Thanks for all the great photos in this post, Rockman.
Hyde Park really takes me back. Very young and apparently energetic I came straight off a 12 hour flight from Los Angeles to London and went straight to Hyde Park.

Definitely the biggest crowd I'd ever seen then. Mick's tunic caused quite a stir, to say the least. MICK WEARS A DRESS screamed the headlines.

Sad, of course, because of Brian's death and Mick did his best to read a poem that somehow captured poor screwed up Brian at his best. Not one of the great gigs musically; rehearsal was needed but in the circumstances it was far from bad.

The Who and Chuck Berry played at Albert Hall that night, and unfortunately jet lag caught up with me. SO I went to bed thinking how amazing it was to see the Rolling Stones with all those people filling that beautiful park.
