(1) "in 2001 macca out sold mick's solo album, macca 1 stones 0"

What kind of comparison is that? Macca is solo artist, Mick is the fontman of the Stones. Fair or not, most of the people ALWAYS consider Mick as a part of the band, atleast since 1989. But, even you believe that Macca "won", what on earth the Stones have to do with?

(2) "2002 macca was the highest grossing tour of the year macca 2 -0"

"2-0"?? ... You must be kidding... At the particular time (end of 2002) Macca's tour was going to it's end, while Stones draw the first 700,000 people of their total audience. If really you care about grosses (i don't) look at the grosses of the two tours.

(3) "2003 macca's tour received tour of the year award 3-0"

Hahaha... then the Stones draw 3,5 millon of people and #2 was Bruce- not Macca. But if you care for the awards of the music industry, why on earth are you forgeting that the Stones recently took the award "greatest touring act"?

(4) "2004 macca summer 04 tour , played glastebury , stones no tour 4-0"

Excuse me!!!???. What the hell does mean "playing Glastebury"?

(5) "2005 chaos and bigger bang are released, us tour and bigger bang tour started, both gorssed equally, and both albums sold equal number of units 4-1"

No. Worldwide ABB sold clearly better. Ask georgelicks...

(6) "2006 macca is busy divorcig heather mills, stones are still touring 4-2"

What criterion is that? (As you see, i like fair play...)

BTW, what about music's quality? It's a matter of taste, of course. So, IMO the last really good Macca's album was "Band On The Run". 1973, man... To me, even "Dirty Work", the weakest Stones album, was much better that any Macca's record since then. Honestly.

It's not that stupid. It's kind of fun, I think.

And I disagree about Dirty Work being better than any post Band on the Run Macca album.

GITD has sold much more than Driving Rain, Mick's album 1.2 million and 700-800k for Macca's album. ABB has sold the double of Chaos.

Thanks for the info, georgelicks.

So, wildbillclintongranata, i think the real score is Stones 7- Macca 0...

Re: MACCA VS STONES 2007
Date: April 5, 2007 05:44

okay, let's revise the score:

IN 2001:

- STONES HAVE NO MAJOR PROJECT, MICK RELEASES SOLO ALBUM. SELLS ONLY 64 COPIES IN THE uk IN ITS FIRST DAY!!!! 64 COPIES ONLY....!!!!.

- MACCA ORGANIZIED CONCERT FOR NY, WRITES THE SONG FREEDOM WHICH IS NOT A HIT BUT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD HAVE HEARD IT AT LEAST ONCE. DRIVING RAIN IS RELEASED, AND REACHES #26 IN THE US SELLING 64000 COPIES IN ITS FIRST WEEK. CRITICS PRAISE THE ALBUM AS THE BEST SOLO MACCA ALBUM EVER AND EUQUALLY AS GOOD AS THE WHITE ALBUM!!!!

HENCE, MACCA 1 STONES 0.

2002: DRIVING USA TOUR STARTS, MACCA PERFORMS FREEDOM AT THE SUPERBOWL, DRIVING USA TOUR, DRIVING MEXICO, AND DRIVING JAPAN ARE A MASSIVE SUCCESS, MACCA GROSSES 127 MILLION IN 2002 FROM TOURING. MACCA GETS MARRIED TO HEATHER

STONES BEGINS THE LICKS TOUR IN THE WINTER, STONES WENT ON TO GROSS 92 MILLION FROM SEPT TO DEC.

BECAUSE MACCA 'S TOUR WAS THE HIGHEST GROSSING TOUR OF THE YEAR, AND BECAUSE MACCA MADE MORE NOISE BY PLAYING THE SUPERBOWL AND GETTING MARRIED,

MACCA SCORES SECOND GOAL
MACCA 2 STONES 0.

2003: MACCA EXTENDS TOUR DUE TO MASSIVE SUCCESS IN 2002, MACCA PLAYS EUROPE AND PLAYS HISTORIC GIG IN MOSCOW WHICH IS WORLWIDE NEWS. MACCA MEETS PUTIN. MACCA RELEASES BACK IN THE WORLD CD/ALBUM, THE LIVE ALBUM IS AN INSTANT BEST SELLER, AND OUTSELLS AGAIN ANY STONES 'S LIVE ALBUM.

STONES CONTINUE THEIR LICKS TOUR, THAT'S IT.

MACCA MADE MORE NOISE, HENCE, MACCCA 3 - STONES 0

2004: STONES ARE DONE, LICKS TOUR IS OVER, LIVE LICKS DOES NOT SELL WELL,
MACCA TOURS AGAIN, SUMMER 04 TOUR, HUGE SUCCESS AGAIN, PLAY ST PETERSBURG, AND PLAYS GLASTENBURY. MACCA MADE MORE NOISE:
MACCA 4-STONES 0

2005- CHAOS IS RELEASED, CRITICS PRAISED THE ALBUM LIKE NO TOMORROW. BIGGER BANG IS RELEASED TOO, BOTH ALBUMS SELL EQUAL # OF UNITS, BOTH TOURS ARE INSTANT HITS. ONE GOAL EACH. MACCA 5 - STONES 1

2006 - MACCA PLAYS THE GRAMMY'S, BUSY GETTING DIVORCE , STONES ARE TOURING AND CASHING IN....... STONES MADE MORE MONEY
MACCA 5 STONES -2

2007???? HEATHER MILLS WILL WIN DANCING WITH THE STARS, MACCA SIGNS WITH STARBUCKS, MACCA'S NEW ALBUM, NEW WORLD TOUR, NEW HIT SINGLE.

STONES , CONTINUATION OF BIGGER BANG TOUR.

SCORE??? TBD.

THE BEATLES WERE GREAT ONLY BECAUSE OF MACCA, IF YIOU THINK ABOUT IT, ALL THE MORE WELL KNOWN SONGS WERE MACCAS. LET IT BE, YESTERDAY, JEY JUDE, MICHELLE ETC.....

WINGS WERE THE BEST SELLING ACT IN THE 70S. NOT THE STONES

SAY SAY SAY, THE GIRLS IS MINE, EBOY AND IVORY WERE WORLDWIDE SMASH HITS......SONGS DON'T BECOME WORLDWIDE SMASH HIT BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GOOD. ONLY GOOD SONGS CAN APPEAL TO ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.

I suspect that Wildbillclintongranata (ferrante, shearer) is sexually obsessed with Paul McCartney. However, because he is unable to "consummate" a relationship, even if he were to get close to McCartney, his obsession might manifest itself in an act of rage, rather than love. Fortunately, I believe that McCartney has very good security around him at all times.

Anyway, if anyone has any questions, please let me know. After all, I'm a doctor.

Man you are really overcomplicating things. Yes Macca has come out with more studio albums since 2000 than The Stones but that only means he is more active not better.

Georgelicks mentioned above that ABB has sold nearly the double of Chaos and you continue to state that they sold the same.

I could refute many of your other statements but instead of wasting my life on this I'll just pick some of your lowlights.

The Beatles were not only great because of Macca. There was this other obscure guy who's name escapes me- oh yeah John Lennon. Not to mention George who also penned some good songs.

The Wings were the best selling act in the seventees? According to RIAA they sold a whopping 10.5 million records. SG, GHS and SF alone surpass that not to mention all the other 70's Stones records.

If you wanted to boast about Macca's eightees output you should have cited Tug Of War, Pipes Of Peace, So Bad, Take It Away etc. instead of Say Say Say which is lightweight fluff.

ABB was better reviewed, sold more copies and the ABB tour was far bigger than Macca's tour so case closed.

"Lyin' awake in a cold, cold sweat. Am I overdrawn, am I going in debt?
It gets worse, the older that you get. No escape from the state of confusion I'm in.

for those who think i m just here saying bull crap......

here is one of the sources stating facts:

In 1973, Wings had their first #1 single with "My Love" off the "Red Rose Speedway" album which also went to #1 as did "Band On the Run" in 1973.
The "Venus and Mars "album released in 1975 had many hit singles including: "Listen To What The Man Said" which went to #1.
The 1978 "London Town" album hit single "With A Little Luck" went to #1.
"Wings Over America" (triple album) released December 1976 went to #1.

MULL OF KINTYRE - 4th biggest selling single (UK)
BAND ON THE RUN - 12th biggest selling album (UK)
SILLY LOVE SONGS - 14th biggest selling single (US)
WINGS AT THE SPEED OF SOUND -18th biggest selling album (US)

Top singles acts of the '70s:
US: #3 Paul McCartney/Wings
UK: #6 Paul McCartney/Wings

john lennon wrote songs.....but the most famous beatles songs were written by macca.

no stones hits were bigger than say say say, ebony, the girls is mine, and no more lonely nights in the 80's.

driving rain is better than bigger band and babilon.

hmm.. this 'wildbilblahblah' character seem to have a double - no doubt sexually driven - agenda:

(1) to idolize Paul McCartney
(2) to tell the Stones fans that Paul McCartney is 'better' than The Rolling Stones.

I don't know which one is more pervert.

But hey, we all have our missions! Good luck, Don Quixote!

In the 60's, there was this Beatles vs. Stones thing, but Macca vs. Stones ?
Never heard of it. It's made up by Ferrante/Shearer/... alone. And it's silly too.

You are insanely dumb man. Whenever Macca does something it's "making noise about it". When it's the Stones it's "cashing in".
The Beatles weren't great solely because of Paul. I wouldn't have thought half of that band if they didn't have I Am The Walrus or Strawberry Fields Forever.
Yes Macca met Putin, but then he slagged off doing that at Live 8 in 2005. Jesus, you're living in your own reality.
Can't you just stay away from here. Why do I have to sit here and listen to some fat barrel of monkey spunk droning on about the greatness of Paul McCartney?

ROTFLMAO at the statement that "Driving Rain" was equal to the White Album. Hell, if that's true, then I've topped Abbey Road and Exile with the crap that I've written.

DR = a pretty good CD
TWA = one of the Beatles best, if not the best

Of course. For me, Dirty Work has 4 decent tracks. Flaming Pie is great - 10 years old and I still listen do it when doing art, etc.

It's a Micheal Jackson / Mick Jagger duet written by Jackson on the 1984 Victory LP.

It's the song Mick and Tina did as a medley w/ IORR at Live Aid. Ring any bells?
