First they moan about the missing gigs last year....I mean normal people - if they went through what Keef went through - they wouldn't wanna go on a schedule of finishing of one part of the tour - then filming the "Pirates" - then going on a tour of USA - the guy's a hero!! (I mean, I read the reviews where he was sagging...would you not?? He's been undergoing surgery to his HEAD!! Still - he's out there playing!!) (The best theory, I read, was the one where he had a hair transplant....yes..of course!! They just had two or three months off..so of course !!)
Then....the long delay....there are a lot of logistics to take care of!! YES! ..and a lot of other bands reforming might have beaten them to it. But do you really think Sting is gonna call Mick and tell him that the Police is reforming?? Or Genesis (puke! puke!) But these are bands whom middleaged people like to see.....(not me..even if I am middle aged...maybe the Police if someone would hand me a free ticket-----never Genesis....that would take more beers than is possible)
To me this European Tour shows that the Stones have a bit of pride in them left - they wanna make up for lost gigs and delays and what not - they're pro's!!!
Yet - people still speculate on them giving shows back-to-back ....and THEN whine when Jagger's voice gives out
They're giving four shows to Spain - if I remember correctly - to make up for lost concerts last year ---- and all we can discuss on this board is whether they can sell them out or not??
If you think the price is to steep ...if you think they are over the hill - don't buy the f*cking tickets...it's as easy as that
They are THE ROLLING STONES and they f*cking command some respect!!!

I must admit - in a very Elton John style - that I printed out a few of the comments on the IOOR - and rolled them up spliffwise and put a f*ckin' torch to it - but I did NOT inhale ;-)

Love shows in many forms.....but so does the Devil ;-)

Hmmmm...I must be coming over all wrong. "What's so funny about peace, love and understanding"?
Like Keef said at one time (I can find the source if necessary - Q Magazine inthe 90's sometime), The Stones are not here to break new grounds - they're here to be the ROLLING STONES.....and that's enough for me! ;-)
We should be f*ckin' grateful (I'm sure the doctor told Keef to take a year off!!)
They're all 60+ years old, living life in the fast lane longer than I've been alive (and that's been awhile), and cranking out 2 hour shows! Absolutely A M A Z I N G ! ! ! We will not see the likes of them again.

You said it - I do not possess the talent for making a short statement like that *lol*
I mean - they've been in one of the most competetive businesses in the world for nigh on 45 years....always at the top of the heap or very near it....they MUST be doing something right!!
Stop the whining and get down on your knees and worship - WE ARE NOT WORTHY!

... that's all fine and good, provided their worship status is earned as much today as it has always been.

You have a point - taking it too seriously is a serious offense. I say suspend 1 ya for that, but counter-attacking is OK as long as it's not done seriously.

A little bit strong, isn't it?
I think every visitor to a show is worth it because she or he pays, to say it with your words, their f*ucking income.
While I appreciate the fact the band still do it, and in my opinion still do it better than anybody, I don't have to swallow all of the business bulls*it that accompanies it. I admire them for making money and running a business and find that side of the band interesting. However, when they screw over the real fans, ie. the O2 debacle, I find it insulting and in very poor taste. I am happy to pay the ridiculously high ticket prices, join the badly run official website, and buy all the Cd's they want to produce but they fundementally failed to keep their side of the Membership bargain and once again alienated honest long-term fans. And I don't care who shouts me down, they did a shitty thing full stop!

exactly, F*K EM! I won't be buying a grossly overpriced ticket to this tour. It's the same old stuff again again and again. The same A Bigger Dud crapola being trotted out one more time! I love the Stones more than any band but jeez, shake it up, do something different PLEASE.

I get lamb-basted for less than this, I'm not this negative!
