I'd rather they released some of the covers from the tour (Night Time Is The Right Time, Mr. Pitiful, Get Up Stand Up, etc.). They will have a new DVD to promote.

They were several songs on A Bigger Bang that could have been a hit ... 20 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I think they deserved to be hits, but when was the last time a band whose average age is 60-something had a top 20 hit?

Even if the Stones came out with their best song ever tomorrow (unlikely, I know), it wouldn't be a hit because critics and fans are so conditioned to say "the Stones new music will never measure up to their old stuff" and radio is so rigid in the types of artists it will play new music from.

Yes it's a great song, but it's not a hit single. The Stones are not a singles band, never have been. Just look at there UK Number 1 success compared to the Beatles. The Stones are an Album / live act kind of deal.

good points ohno and mr. jimmy; i would add that in the early days, at least in the states, (and all the way up to bs, htw) the Stones actually Were a charting singles act...i know that was then...a long, long time ago now...and sadly, ohno's analysis is probably true...tho i hate to think it...i always kind of secretly hope they'll have another hit in the general non-fanatic pop moosic general public world. back 9/05, i heard lmds and thought 'there she is'...
dang, they didn't even try...they sorta had a hit or a hitlet in italy with sol (not one of my faves or even close) tho, no?

I like Let Me down slow as well. i think its better than biggest Mistake. Its hard to listen to biggest mistake right after hearing lmds because its kind of the same thing but slower, and not as good. it just doesn't sound right in that context.

He may not have been a band. but Sinatras biggest selling albums were his Duets albums, which were released when he was in his 70s.

Start Me Up would flop on today's market, not the kind of stuff you hear on the radio. Rough Justice is a fantastic single, but for 1975, not 2005.

Sounds like a good idea but ABB was only a one year project.Record company's don't let an album like that drag on for two to three years..
