There are advertisements in UK national press (Tuesday) telling 02 customers to text them for a number to get presales on Wednesday morning. Looks like you need to be a legit customer...won't do just getting someone you know to text to get you a code.

I don't quite get it all, must be dense.

Please explain and elaborate (and pontificate as well if you will!) on all this.

There is an advert in the London Metro (free paper) today (page 24). A colleague I work with has just sent a text to O2 and received a reply within 10 seconds with the code.

You need to text ROLLING to 64202.

Tomorrow at 0900hours you need to go to theo2.co.uk/blueroom

Yep, they bounce the text with the password back to you in about 10 seconds. Mine just came through. Thank f*** I'm not a Vodaphone or Orange or T-Mobile customer !!

SO if you happen to be an O2 phone subscriber...you get priority over RS Fan Club members with no old legacy codes.

Very happy for all the O2 subscribers, but have to agree with Spud- it stinks.

Ok, I asked a couple of mates to test this out for me. Both of them got the same code, so I just want to check if everyone else got the same one. For those who did get a code...does it end in CAJ?

Asked them to do it yesterday, so not sure if they're getting a "you're too early" code or whether they're all the same.

you have to be an 02 customer - so you'd need to be a UK resident I presume

o2 seem to be notifying all customers anyway. Got an unsolicited text from them an hour or so ago advising about this, even though Id texted them earlier on.

This means that a legacy code for the presale (which I've been hanging on to) is all but worthless because I will now be competeing with thousands of O2 phone owners. It is just possible that a separate pool of tickets has been put aside for legacy code holders but I would be amazed if this was the case. If further dates are added I doubt there will be a provision for legacy code holders - I think they will simply have a fanclub presale without the legacy element. I'm pretty sure this is what has happened when new dates have been tagged on in the past. By the way O2 are texting all their customers with the presale information. I have an O2 phone but I think it is a disgrace that it gets me the same ticket purchasing rights as a legacy code holder!

I would imagine that only a limited number of tickets are allocated to the O2 presale...so it might not be too big an issue.

Thinking about it...if O2 are actively pushing the event, it may indicate that further dates are indeed in the pipeline. You don't have to actively market just one stones show with a 20,000ish capacity.

I was actually thinking this may well be the case. For example, remember the AMEX presales they did last year for the ABB shows? The tickets that were available with the AMEX presale were not as good as the ones available with a legacy presale. I spent quite a bit of time checking this for the previous legs of the tour, and like I said, the AMEX presale gave you tickets easily, but not necessarily very good ones. For example, you had floor tickets in block C or something, equivalent to about 60+ rows back, and you were paying full price ($450 or £150) for them.

Perhaps a couple of tiered sections will be used for the O2 customers, or floor seats in blocks B or C. And hopefully legacy presale will give you Floor seating in Block A

When tickets went on sale in December 2005 for the London stadium shows, the two dates were put on sale a week apart, with seperate presales for each.
