More shows in Europe?

Is there any possibility to take place extra shows in Europe? Will we have an Athens show? When will be such announcement?

Perhaps in London Wembly Stadium?

Forget Wembley. Its not going to happen. With anything up to 3 arena shows in London (ie, over 60,000 tickets), that'll be enough demand. If they add any extra shows in the UK apart from that, it would need to be outside the capital. Theyre not going to sell 75,000 tickets for a stadium show there as well.

Cant see any 'window' for extra shows prior to London, taking into account they take a couple of breaks during the tour. The only real possibility is July 11-12. The Greek fans on here dont seem too optimistic they'll play Athens, unfortunately. Cant see why they cant, though.

If they arrange any more summer gigs for the New Wembley the turf won't be worth a fig standing or not.

*sigh* cause we haven't heard anything about a Stones gig here (not even a rumour!)
The promoter that booked them last year says he's not interested now... sad smiley

Still hoping, but I think we need a miracle, really.

He actually said that, Fotini? thats too bad. The fact that the itinerary has an opening at the time theyre in that part of Europe would indicate that the Stones may have wanted to play the gig, but no promoter would take the chance.

the extra shows will not take place in Holland, that`s for sure. They only sold 16.000 from 60.000 tickets for Nijmegen. I feel a laringytes coming up

These days, they don't play more than three shows in a row with one day off between each show. So no show on July 30th, I'm afraid.

Yes Gazza sad smiley
I called to ask and they said that they made no proposal to the Stones and they're not interested, "For the time being".

*sigh* It's not looking good at all.

Argh, I can't fly sad smiley
No money (+ fear of flying). I was 100% sure I was gonna see them right here at home, so I skipped the money-saving.... Damn.

Sent DiDi (the promoter) an awfully angy e-mail. Let's see what they have to say about that.

Is there a "How to convince an idiotic promoter to book your favorite band" book out there? grinning smiley

avoid Stansted, if at all possiblr, as it's the most impractical
(public transport, wise) and furthest-afield, of all the London airports.

Heathrow or Gatwick, in my opinion, would be your better options.

EasyJet is affordable for me, but the only route from Copenhagen to England is to London Stansted. Why is it a bad place? Hard to get a bus from there???

no big problem with Stansted, just takes a bit longer to get to the centre of London.

the Stansted Express will do you the job:-

or get a National Express coach:-

Drinking in London isn't too expensive?

I think your prediction is right. The Stones have played to death in Holland since 1989 and the peak was 1998. Also they have played to death in the neighbouring Germany. I think the market is normaly “satiated” anymore, as for a country that has a population of 16,3 million. I think people in Holland still love the Stones- if i remember correctly, ABB sold well there, as usual. But many people, who have seen the Stones in the last 10 years six, nine or eleven times, aren’t prepared to pay 85 Euros for seeing them once again. It seems normal and logical.

I don’t think so. The show will take place in June, 8, and today is March 26... For the reasons i already mentioned (highest frequency of tours, highest prices) the Stones rarely are selling tickets fast, in the last years. But in the most cases finally the sales are good or very good! The important question for them is “how many”, not “how fast”- unless the sales are extremely slow. Also, maybe a notable number of people expect to see lower prices, a few days before the gig. But, even with 40,000 sold tickets out of 60,000, do you think the gig is going to be cancelled? Why? I don’t think so.

You're Scandinavian - so drinking anywhere else is probably cheap!

Flying to Stansted is fine. 40 mins by train from central London (Liverpool street), which is actually just as quick as getting the Tube from Heathrow or the train from Gatwick or Luton.

depends where you drink! but generally cheaper than Scandanavia

I never found it expensive in Denmark. Stick to beer and you can easily get them for what equals 50 pence per bottle (As long as you're not interested in quality beer).

So that's 6000 more than the number that was posted somewhere yesterday. 25% now, I don't see any reason why they would not sell 75% of the tickets eventually. Which would mean a show for 45.000, that looks good to me.

The weather would probably have influence too: if the forcasts are good some days before the show, it'll be boosted with a few thousands easily.

We'll seee, who cares.
