Beacuse Mick and Keith is alive. The end will be when one of them dies, 30-40 years from now.

I don't think Mick would announce it without the others being there.

No way they'll anounce a farewell tour only Mick being present.

I would not be surprised if he said that this would likely be the last (portion) of the big, major tours...

It may well be their Farewell Tour but even they themselves won't know that. I'm now sure that they will never announce a farewell or retirement bash. They carry too much history and their Ringcraft is second to none. Too wise. Others have staged 'Goodbye' gigs over the years (my own beloved Bowie included) only to drag themselves back on the road sooner or later. Yeah I'm starting to think only death, war, famine or pestilence will stop the Stones rolling (even then there may still be a gig or two left in them!)

IF there was to be an official Farewell Tour you can be sure it would incorporate more than just Europe.

Having said that I still have a gut feeling this part of the tour will ultimately end up back in North America in the Autumn (or Fall as they say over there). Just a gut feeling-no 'official source' here!

Keith or Charlie are both in my Celebrity Dead Pool. I've got money on one of 'em kicking it in 2007.

No way will Mick Jagger announce a farewell tour. The time will come when they stop doing world tours that go on and on and that may happen sooner or later. I think health issues will be what slows them down eventually, but who knows?

The main thing is to enjoy it while it is still part of our lives. Some will choose not to go see them this time round for various reasons discussed at length in these threads, but for those of us that are planning some trips this summer....here we go again!

This "last tour" stuff has being going about for years and years; I remember the same conjecture in 1990 - 17 years ago now! Enjoy the tours until they stop for whatever reason. Everybody gets older, but I don't celebrate a friend's birthday and think "this could be their last" and that's how I feel about the Stones (although a few arena and/or club gigs would be very welcome).

It will be an announcement of a European tour and then maybe there'll be news about a possible new album, although I very seriously doubt that (Fingers crossed though). Less than an hour to go now. Yippeeee.....

I agree , I don't think they'll ever say "That's It " . My feelings would lean to smaller tours , perhaps 20 dates where they know ticket sales will be almost guaranteed . Shows will not be such huge productions more " back to the roots " style shows .

For the reason that Finnstone, leteyer and others have stated and the fact that this band has more class than to announce a 'farewell tour'. Plus, if they did, they would so at the beginning of a tour to maximise the commercial impact instead of just before the final leg of it. To do so prior to a European tour on a friggin' webcast with one band member there would be somewhat anti climactic.

I DO think this WILL be their last long drawn out world tour on this scale, however but I dont think they'll announce that it is and I think they'll always be driven to do some degree of live work as long as theyre physically capable.
