Something keeps coming up in my mind: all those years of torture in the Amsterdam Arena, each and every time accompanied by many complaints about sound, venue, treatment and everything, lead to nothing from the side of the promotor, MOJO. And now, when I lost all hope for a non-A'dam ArenA show in the Netherlands ever again, suddenly the Stones seem to be playing the Goffertpark. Has Mojo also finally lost all hope for good sound in the ArenA? Can't believe that: they invest in the stadium as a company, the stadium has invested in "sound improving measures", they keep staging other artists there... so no arguments for the Goffertpark here.
Other option: maybe MOJO will not promote this show? Maybe the Stones don't want to play the ArenA again, and told MOJO to find something else?
I'm clueless, but happy. It will probably be not easy to park your car, to reach the field, to find a front rail spot, to find shelter from the weather. But for sure if we leave aside the modern comfort of consumer-oriented rock 'n roll shows in facilitated stadiums, and think back of the days of REAL waiting and hours of pre-show fun in front of the stage, urinating behind trees and the glamour of real beer in carton, instead of event-beer in plastic, it will be a great time and a fantastic show. Better sound, great day, totally worn out next day: ROCK 'n ROLL!
