I have only seen ticketsales starting on saturday, (except for the Police last friday I think) but I'm talking general sale, not presale.
Both Licks Tour, ABB 06 and most Dutch things I've seen started on saturday. I get the announcements for most pop/rock shows through the promotors newsletter: all saturdays... Bruce S, Madonna, Robbie W... Maybe a Dutch thing?

Personal opinion - based solely on that and no reliable 'gossip' or info...
last time in Uk/Europe? - yes.
Gazza, do you mean last time as in a UK/European tour? Not the Last Gig?
Much as I would hate to see them call it a day, I've been thinking about this, and if they were to kiss touring goodbye, a final gig at the new Wembley would be an appropriate enough venue I guess...I'm already getting the feeling it will be even more spectacular than Twickenham last year.
well..theres talk already of tentative plans for US shows late next year, which is why I specified "last time in UK/Europe".
Every tour closer is potentially "the last time" I guess. I dont think they'll ever announce a final tour or gig anyway. You'll only know you've been at the last concert retrospectively.
I DID hear last summer talk that they wanted to finish at Wembley Stadium, though - so time will tell.

I heard that too. It would be highly appropriate. Then again, I suspect they will want to kiss their VERY loyal American fans goodbye in style too and also do a few big shows there - especially in their other home town, New York.

I trust you, and if you trust him I believe there is something in it. I owe you a beer and thanks for the ticket last year. It would be nice to meet you again.

Time will tell if he is a bullshit man or the first one with really good news

An IORR members only club gig ? A brilliant idea. I can see it now .............. 90,000 IORR T shirts all jumpin' up and down in harmony at Wembley Stadium. Hmmm ... BV's gonna have to extend the print run of those T shirts.

A theatre show for IORR posters / members would be appropriate! It is after all the European Fan Club. And the shidoobeans got theirs at the Beacon. (even though some Europeans also managed to get in - thanks to influential US friends)
Nonsense. Neither board is an official fan club and like ALL boards, draw fans from various continents. How do you expect them to work this out? IORR has more fans based in the US than it has in Europe and the reason why shidoobee members got an invite for the Beacon sign up was primarily down to a member being connected with the company who were filming the event.
To suggest they exclude any fans based on geographical location or based on what message board they chose to be a member of (and there are multiple fan boards, not just two) is nonsensical. Are you suggesting that someone from Holland who, for example, choses to post on a Dutch forum instead of this one (primarily because the forum is in their own language), should miss out on tickets for a show at the Paradiso because they dont choose to post here on what is an English-speaking forum? Thats beyond absurd.
The whole point of an rs.com fanclub membership is to give you priority for tickets. Considering we pay $100 for a pretty shitty service with no guarantee and a lot of broken promises, THAT is the only adequate and reasonably fair way of ensuring fans get a decent shot at any theatre shows, should there be any.

the point of rs.com is just to get more money for the band and Michael Cohl.. they could just as easily do a free sign up service that let you know when the tickets were going to be sold.. they don't have the charge for that info
if it was fan club membership it would go on when there is no tour at all.. if they didn't tour this year would there be any point in being a member.. simple answer.. no

There is no PC on Thursday. It will take place next week as the earliest...

I'm not justifying the fan club and what a rip off it is. Thats not in dispute. however, it would be a pretty preposterous system where you pay $100 to an official fan club specifically to get presale access and then lose out to a system (as suggested above) which enables someone who registered for a free message board a couple of days earlier to get priority instead. For all its flaws, the fan club presale system (as it was used on the Licks tour anyway when there WERE presales to theatre shows) is a fairer method. Itd be nice to actually GET something for your membership as promised - no?
Mmmm, I might be inclined to agree if the first bite of the cherry didn't go to folks who happen to use a certain brand of credit card and if fan club members really did get first access to the best seats...most of which subsequently turn out to have been procured by brokers for sale later at inflated prices to those with more money than genuine enthusiam for the band.
Yep. the proof of the pudding is in the eating, Spud. However, the AMEX deal didnt apply to theatre show presales on the last tour anyway as there werent any... so ideally there'll be no 'outside' presales this time (for theatre shows) as they dont need these other silly deals to shift thousands of overpriced but mediocre tickets. (the AMEX tickets for the stadium/arena shows generally werent the best ones anyway)
Might be a moot point anyway. Personally I'll be surprised if theres any more than 1-2 theatre shows (if any at all), although I hope I'm wrong.
I was lucky enough to snag 1 Beacon ticket on Ticketmaster the day they went on sale, but I consider that a near-miracle. All I can say is I will be very disappointed if they do 10 theater shows, because the odds of getting a ticket even with camping, begging, borrowing and/or stealing, are so low. I would much prefer 10 arena shows, so most people who want to go can go. Just my opinion.
Fair enough comment, although the odds would be helped if half of the tickets for these shows "for the fans" didnt get kept for crew, hangers on and various attention seeking celebrities as they usually are. They're hard enough to get as it is! LOL
Yep Gazza, that's true. When I came home from the Licks theatre show I turned on the television to see what they had about the Stones. I saw people there... Truely sad that they got invited. Even the most stupid soap actress from the most flopped soap seemed to have been invited, and also politicians: horrible.
But they were punished: the music was very loud and they only played a few warhorses... ;-)
Just imagine that this crazy belgian journalist was right. Wouldn't that be great? We have been looking for information all over the world and this man just tells us in a silly interview. And we almost missed it. He should also start a stones fan site as he is a fan as well with sources (well, that remains to see)

I reckon not fair to compare that & now, as they were to announce a world tour then; now only a separate leg on one continent.
