Just wondering what your impressions were if you've seen the RHCP this current tour...

How does it compare to the By the Way Tour back in 2003/04 ?? I saw 4 gigs that tour and they all knocked me out....

I've got tix for a concert in a couple weeks and can't wait...

Would they let me in with a bucket? Or would I have to puke on the person sitting next to me?

i was at the 3 concerts last year and will go to 5 or 6 this year. they are so great...frusciante is beating the @#$%& out of his guitar.

You are in for one funky ass show! They sound great this tour. I saw five shows this year. Two in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa & Quebec City. They were great every night. They played alot from SA, some from Blood Sugar & alot from the last two Cds. I also saw them at Woodstock 99 & in T.O. for the One Hot Minute tour. Their preformance on the Grammies sucked compared to the shows I went to. They seemed nervous. I know they have a bad rep. as far as live shows go but be reasured their game is at its best.

today's edition of serbian daily newspaper Blic [www.blic.co.yu] said that RHCP will play in serbia on 26th of june,
on RHCP site there's no news about serbian show...yet

Yeah go for it, even with crappy seats, don't miss them, they put on one hell of a show ! Lots of improvisations, mini-covers, etc... Very spontaneous show !

Since when are their psycho lyrics new ??

Kiedis calls them "word sculptures".... IMO it's a strength of the band. If they were playing back in the LSD days everyone would know exactly what they are saying, lol

I saw them at the LA Forum a little while ago.
IT WAS GREAT!!!

I also saw them at the Forum last summer and went both nights. They were the best shows I've ever seen them do. Compared to the By The Way and previous tours the shows are longer now. At each night at the Forum, they played for 2 hours, up from the 95-100 minutes shows they used to do. Also on this tour they are switching up the setlists more than in the past. They have so many new songs to play and at the Forum, there were around 7-8 different songs between the 2 nights.

Took the family of four to see them here in Atlanta in October, and they were excellent. I think Stadium Arcadium was one of the top 5 albums of 2006, still listening to it.

The end jam with just Flea, Chad, and John Frusciante at the Forum was insane.
Anthony left the stage totally spent at the end of the show,
but the rest of the band continued for an intense 10 minute funkadelic jam of beautiful chaos.

There's no rock band I'm aware of that jams like these guys... the Grateful Dead used to (with their own sound, of course)... but the RHCP could, and maybe should just do some jam gigs...

Sometimes Flea adds trumpet to it, the guy is amazing...

Gig started about 845pm, Arena was very nearly sold out, great crowd.

Open Jam: 3.5
Can't Stop: 3.5 Very good opener, got us into it.
Dani California: 4.5 Excellent. This song comes across great live.
Scar Tissue: 2.0 As much as I like this song, John's guitar was just way overdone on it, frequently running away from the other instruments and ahead of the core rhythm, IMO.
Charlie: 3.0 Good
Fortune Faded 3.5 Very good version.
21st Century: 5.0 This is the kind of big-production, big-sound song that really showcases Johns' playing. Incredible. It was reminiscent to me of TAYT on the BTW tour, and lo and behold...
TAYT: 4.75 A great one-two punch here. Only scores 4.75 because 21st Century was so perfect.
Don't Forget Me: 5.0 Another 5.0. Perhaps the highlight of the whole gig for me. The instrumentation was perfectly meshed, the vocals great... delivered all the emotionality of this song and then some.
Warlocks: 2.5 Average, nothing particularly interesting
C'Mon Girl: 4.5 Fantastic. Great live song.
Californication: 4.0 I've heard better renditions, but this was good enough and a great crowd pleaser. Great special effects too.
BSSM: 4.0 Somehow the instrument levels were off on this. Otherwise great.
Snow (HeyOh): 4.5 Great.
Me and My Friends: 4.75 Another high point. Best rendition I've ever heard of this number. Flea starts out with this (probably b.s.) mindtrip about being on the beach in mexico when a car pulls up and someone drops a dead lizard in his hand... and when he looked at the lizard, this is what happened, BAM, and they tore into the song.
By the Way: 4.5 Song really has legs. Not quite as memorable as when it opened the last tour, but definitely one of their 25 best live songs.

ENCORE
I Could Have Lied: 3.0 Overall quite pleasant but again John's "hendrix" guitar lines sort of ran away from this understated number.
Give it Away: 4.0 Good solid performance. Somehow I like this in the pre-encore section more than as final encore.

Gnarls Barkley was very good opener, IMO. 100% more listenable than the overdose of QOTSA and Mars Volta from BTW tour (with apologies to all the QOTSA fans).

Overall great concert. Slicker than BTW, not necessarily better, but very enjoyable. Chad's drumming was the standout musicianship for me, the guy belongs in the pantheon of great rock drummers. You can definitely see how their songbook has expanded with the S.A. songs, many of which will hopefully be played on many tours yet to come.

Saw them this fall and they were fantastic. I had seen them before and I knew they were a great live band but the show I saw exceeded my expectations.
Kiedis´ voice has improved a lot since the last tour and Fruciante was brilliant as usual.
They´ll do a few stadium shows here again this summer and (contrary to the Stones) I´m definitely going to see them again.
There is no better live band than the Chili Peppers at the moment.

Saw them in Barcelona, last year before the suppsotly opening Biggar bang Tour, and everyone was disapointed about that concert, very short , just and hour and 15 minutes, and very serious with the crowd,
I didnt like them at all!!
