It probably wont be out until there really IS democracy in China, at this rate.

Is there anyone left who cares, anyway?

They may as well scrap it. No album delayed this long can possibly live up to the hype

The record label should cut its losses and drop the project. I think the courts will find in favor of the label if sued.

Axl is just finalizing the mix for the duet with Michael Jackson, it's a dual comeback album. The new song is going to put the fabulous State Of Shock duet to shame.

Well Brian Wilson's "Smile" was very good. The thing is that Wilson's CD didn't get a new date put on it every 3 months. I'm pretty sure that when Chinese Democracy finally gets out, it's not as good as people think. Rock 'n roll thrives on spontanity amongst other things. A perfectionist like Axl must have wiped all spontanity from the CD because he fiddles around with it too much.

I heard three songs a couple of years ago, and they weren't really that bad. It must be some legal issues that holds it back?

I think that the tracks recorded years ago had people playing on it who aren't in the band anymore. The "new" guys have to re-record parts of the older songs, which has been made in the previous weeks.
Officially they just have to finish the mixing and mastering.

I believe that no one really cares about them anymore recordwise.
Only a reunion with Slash could create a hype

Wilson rerecorded Smile, it's not the finished Beach Boys album so it's not in the same league for time between recording and releasing. Also tracks appeared on Smiley Smile.

I though Geffen withdrew it's financial support about 18 months ago which meant Axel could take his time becasue there was no record company pressure any more.

Record sales are nowhere close to what they were in 1991. If Geffen withdrew financial support he probably made a wise move. The money is in touring.

This is a complete joke. I mean, it will be the biggest anti-climax... The line-up is not exactly vintage. And the longer it is delayed, the less people care.

I am actually excited to see how shit it will be.

Why don't they call it "Appetite for black bean sauce"

Or, "The Egg Foo Young Incident"
