Direktor kuæe “Komuna” Maksa Æatoviæ potvrdio je da legendarni sastav “The Rolling Stonses” dolazi u Beograd u julu, a na koncertu na Hipodromu, èiji datum još nije definitivno utvrðen, nastupiæe i Alice Cooper i beogradska grupa “Plejboj”.

“Potpuno sam miran jer nema nikakvih sumnji da “The Rolling Stonses” dolaze u Srbiju. Tu nema ništa sporno, ugovor je odavno potpisan i poèetkom sledeæe nedelje menadžment “Stonesa” æe saopštiti novi datum za koncert u Beogradu, a po mojoj proceni, oni æe na Hipodromu nastupiti najverovatnije nekoliko dana nakon planiranog datuma”, rekao je Æatoviæ “Blicu”, dodajuæi da æe britanski veterani roka verovatno svirati u Beogradu pre Zagreba, odnosno 6. jula.

Prema navodima Æatoviæa, problem u vezi sa prvobitno najavljenim koncertom za 2. jul nastao je zbog toga što oprema iz Atine ne bi mogla da se na vreme prebaci, pa je koncert u glavnom gradu Grèke otkazan.

Atina, kao i Beograd, skinuti su za sada sa spiska nastupa “Stonesa” u okviru velike svetske “A Bigger Bang” turneje, objavljenog na sajtu tog benda.

Èlanovi grupe “Plejboj” potvrdili su da su razgovarali sa Æatoviæem o moguænosti da sviraju na koncertu “Stonesa”.

Yeah god.Finaly I saw something that made me shiver again.I feel great again.

Athens Friday 06/07/2007? Great day for a great concert. I hope that this year they will come to our country.

I do still remember walking out of that fantastic show in Athens on a hot evening September 16, 1998, three days before that summer tour finished in Istanbul. They played Vangelis - of course - all over the stadium - as we had this great memory of the show. See review from Athen 98: [iorr.org]

BV, do you remember Nina Simone on the stage? It is really mistery to me what she said? As I remember good she said something and go away from stage. She was dressed totally in yelow. I read some greek articles but could't figure what she said.If you remember of she's apperiance on the stage that night, please share your memories.

Last year I was in the same condition again.We were loosing the exams at the university and I thought that we were going to have double exams in June.Keith felt from the tree and the concert was rumoured that is going to take place in September but also my exams and I was thinking that I am gonna loose some lessons if I go and see them.Same thing this year again.

Nina Simone on the stage? I didn't see this. Yes, she was in Athens in September 1998. But i don't remember her at the concert. In contrary, i remember some "bad" statements she did against the Stones. "They don't create music, they are destroying music", etc. Unless her words were a kind of bad humour. Who knows...

well,she did have a personality disorder which wasnt public knowledge until after her death - so that might explain her at times unusual behaviour.

I have read that she was doing another concert that day I think on another part of town.

Probably. I can't imagine other explanation.

She did whatever she wanted also in concert...she spended here last years in holland..sad..she was very talented.

ask and you shall receive - a tentative athens date! if rome happens, i hope it's in there sometime between london and athens. there are "cheap" flights from milan to athens - that's what i did last year

wishful thinking that such a vague time-frame may easily change...but their tour schedule doesn't always make geographical sense.

yes, so much for them being "environmental Pioneers" or something like that (someone in the T-shirt thread mentioned that they are touring "green" with little or no emissions, which i find hard to believe). making more efficient travel plans would be a good start

For Bjornulf: In IORR summer 2007 dates Athens Olympic Stadium seems to have 75.000 seats,but after the reconstruction for 2004 Olympic Games, stadium's capacity decreased to 68-69.000 seats.

I didn't knew that Homerus.If sales were good last year they will come,but I remember they sold around 40000 tickets.

They had sold around 50.000 tickets 3 months before the concert, and it was absolutely sure that till the concert day all tickets would have sold. Exactly the same happened in the 1998 concert, when the stadium was full.

I think last year the sales had been faster than in 1998. Then, in 1998, they had sold 50,000 tickets two weeks before the concert. Last year, 45,000 -50,000 tickets 1.5- 2 months before it. As for Greece, where everybody (almost...) buys tickets- for every event, musical or not- in the last days, the number was very, very good.

I wonder why people are so worried about ticket sales.
