It was recorded in 1972.

I thought it was recorded during the IORR sessions. Or am i confused because it was on a b-side from that period?

Cheers,
Wuudy

It's good example of how mixing and production can define the whole feel and vibe of a recording.
You can imagine Through the Lonely Nights being on IORR ...but you can't possibly imagine it on GHS.

It's a fantastic song! One of their best outtakes i think. Great piano, guitars, melodies... it's all there!

A song (or version of a song) is not an outtake when released official....

That's true, but the song was taken out of the record, you will both get an award

I can. It was listed for inclusion on GHS in a pre-release article in "Rolling Stone" (as was "Criss Cross"). Keith did a brief interview w/RS the following year in an article on the IORR single and talked about TTLN being leftover from GHS.

If Lonely Nights doesn't make an MT fan of someone, there's no hope of that ever happening....

Great tune, another one that could easily have made the record.

I believe the acoustic part is played by Jimmy Page. I recall reading that though cannot recall where.
