Thanks for the info Mr DJ - next time I'm in Knoxville, I'll check it out. Usually end up in Kingsport on my annual trek to the Cape but I'll aim for Knoxville next time. Cheers.Quote

Just confirmed that I'm going to be able to go see Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials with my father-in-law tonight at one of my favorite bars, "Brackins" in Maryville, TN. $7.00 to see them in a room with seating for maybe 100 people. Hopefully I'll be able to go back on 10/11/12 for Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers.
I've played @ Brackins many times myself and highly recomend it for anyone who happens to pass through the Knoxville, TN area. It may not be a "legendary" club yet, but partrons and artists alike love the place. Intimate would be an understatement. If you can imagine a downtown, main street in small town America, the club actually occupies the space of three small former store-fronts. The wall behind the drummer is literally a plate glass window that looks out to the street. Dressing rooms? Yeah right. The artists will literally stand in the same line for the bathroom that the patrons use. The amazing thing is, that more often than not, the artists actually request to come back. Any of the musicians here and probably many of the fans know that certain rooms just have a vibe or feeling of their own... This room has it and more.
Peace,
Mr DJA
