The NFL just announced that for the first time ever, there will be a regular season NFL game played in London next season. The rumored teams are the NY Giants & Miami Dolphins. The venue will likely be either Wembly or Twicks.

Please don't send the Atlanta Falcons - it would piss the British off like the rest of the world already is.

If it is a regular season game, it is worth attending. Those overseas exhibition games are a scam.

I'd be a bit pissed off I was a season ticket holder for either of the two teams involved.

Expensive enough to buy I'm sure and you're only guaranteed 8 home games a season - and then they decide to stage one of them in London...

Yeah Gazza the NFL & the Stones are a lot alike when it comes to marketing. They will ram their product down your throat, loyalty be damned.

Maybe the Stones will take similar action and stage their next 80-date US tour in small theatres around the UK....

Gotta disagree with ya Helter....American football is astonishing when you figure in the actual physics of what's going on in the field. Men who are 6'5 and 275 pounds and run like olympic runners...all that mass colliding, etc.

Our family has season tix for The Giants, I'll be interested to see what happens with this.

BTW, I love the "other" Football as well. Glad I have Fox sports channel, we get to see all The Premiership games as well.

You know what man, don't talk about things you know nothing about. American football may be a lot of things, but it is far beyond a "redneck" sport. We won't even talk about how derogatory the term red neck is.

Your absolutely right Gazza. But consider it from this perspective, all the people who work the game from security people (a lot), ticket takers, parking attendants, concession workers, cleaners, etc... all depend on those games for income.

For the away team its no big deal but for fans of the home city that usually sells 65000 to 80000 tickets that can be a big loss. Plus all the extra revenue from parking, concessions, souvenirs, and sales tax receipts for the county. Lost income.

Yes,but the big picture is that the NFL is actively pursuing new markets for their product,as are almost all major American sports leagues. I also understand that the Mayor of London was very active in pursuing this game and that it will probably take place at Wembly.
