When it comes to the LA Friday Tapes box, I was quite surprised after downloading it from dimeadozen, by silkcut, because it sounded much better than my VGP CDs, it's definately better than other releases.

I am so new to this www thing. This is the only site that I have any interest in & I'm learning as I go. I've got some of the yousendit stuff & only a couple of the boots mentioned. But I do have hope that I'm on the right track to get some of this. Dirtyworks says any '81 SB'S are great. My very 1st Stones show was Boulder, CO. Oct. 3, 1981. Can anyone help me with this show? Please and Thankyou.

good news for you ...it does exist..i once had that lp..its good ar..i dunno if its out on cd..i think you will suceed...that was a good show!

1. Detroit 1969.

Not good audio quality but an historic, inspired performance. The very knowledgeable audience goes wild on every number, including for Keith on 'Prodigal Son' and 'You Gotta Move.'


2. Champaign, Illinois 1969.

Not good audio quality but an amazing and utterly bizarre performance! Worth hearing because Mick is clearly stoned out of his mind - he complains about doing two shows a night, gives historical background for Stray Cat Blues, and thanks the 'big city folk of Champaign Illinoah' in a hilariously inaccurate southern accent that gets a great laugh and cheers.

Thanks, rooster. I hope so. I remember reading in Rolling Stone mag. way back then Ronnie saying that was the best show of the tour. Rockman can probably produce that article.
