Knights of Prosperity Tomorrow 9pm

From the previews I've seen, Mick is camping it up, big time. Looks like he had fun filming this pilot. I hope he's in a few episodes! Does anyone know for sure how many weeks Mick will be in this sitcom?

He's only filmed one appearance that will be seen tomorrow in the pilot. He hasn't agreed to any other appearances - yet. He is an executive producer of the show, so hopefully if the show is at all popular he'll hop into more episodes.

I saw a commercial yesterday that showed a cute poster sized picture of him - for a while that may be all we get is pics and references to him.

Well TV fans , I've just seen the show

A few Thoughts .

Why was Bostons "More Than Feeling " playing rather than a Stones Tune ?

I loved the butter dispenser for the popcorn !!

Did you notice that the dogs were named Charlie , Ronnie and i did not quite catch the 3rd ones name ?

Could it be that Mick was trying to promote " Too Far Gone " with his million dollar flat ?

Where can we get Knights Of Prosperity T-shirts ?

The show was amusing , I hope it catches on .

Hey boston, did you hear the Musak version of SMU towards the end?

Yeah, I heard it, was it the music in his hallway, or a doorbell? I noticed it too late.

Also, I'm pretty sure he only named the two dogs, he didn't say the name of the third.

Mick was good, he does well with comedy. It's funny, he is 63, but he really still has such a boyish quality about him when he smiles and laughs. I think he's adorable like that.

Best joke of the night:
Guy 1: You know what I love best about a woman?
Guy 2: Her legs?
Guy 1: Nope
Guy 2: Breasts?
Guy 1: Nope
Guy 2: Oh, I know! Her mind!
Guy 1: Nope. The vagina, I just love that part.

Yes Cindy , I caught the MUSAK version of SMU . I really hate when they do that to any song ,and that vagina joke was LOL funny !

I don't think the writers had enough balls to name the third dog .

I hope the show catches on .

But in this case, I'm just repeating someone else's words, so that's not so bad, right?

Hey Dan, remember when Mark Parenteau used to do the "Elevator from Hell" on BCN? That was awesome! They would take rock songs and turn them into Musak and you would have to name that tune. That was awesome!

GOOD POINT! Mick probably was afraid Keith would give him hell for naming a dog after him!

I think it was funny. I also hope it catches on and that Mick has a few more appearances in it (or more).

Absolutely loved the show. Mick was funny as hell playing soccer. I loved how Mick made fun of himself.

I liked how he kept kicking the ball at his assistant "tran pan", was that his name? Anyway, he sort of abuses him, it reminds me of Clouseau and Kato. Hopefully they show "tran pan" getting his revenge, and they kick each other's butts.

I thought the show was great! Very funny. Mick is the man. Did anybody catch him calling his dogs Charlie and Ronnie?

Does this count as 'setlist whining' ? LOL

maybe Mick didnt want them to use anything pre-1971 because ABCKO owned the publishing and was afraid that the only song after that date that most viewers know was Start Me Up - and it had already been used for the muzak scene...

i thought of the same, thing, Cindy. Overall, I thought MJ's appearances detracted from the show, though. kudos to him for not taking himself seriously, but I thought the pace of the show suffered from his little cameos.

Not good news for non-US residents - they can't access that page. But they can download it from the link kindly given by Riffbuk on another thread:

Really Stones Tod? I thought Mick was a riot!! I did not expect him to be so funny, and the fact that he did it in a real "tongue-in-cheek" fashion was great.

I liked the show, but I thought Mick's scenes were, by far, the best part--the butter from the popcorn machine was hysterical. And the muzak version of start me up was also hilarious.

Re: Knights of Prosperity Tomorrow 9pm

if the show is going to succeed (doubtful), it shouldn't try to leverage whatever "star quality" MJ brings to the table. The concept of Mick in the context of this plot is much more alluring than having campy scenes of him included. I found his cameos to be distracting and adding nothing of substance to the storyline. plus, i hate seeing him continue to debase himself like this....but that's been going on for a couple of decades now.

I had very low expectations for the show given the promos that I'd seen. So, I was happily surprised that the show turned out to be funny and the characters quite likeable.

The popcorn machine bit was hilarious, and I also loved it when it was suggested that they shoot Mick in the azz with a tranquilizer dart! : P

Well, I agree the premise of the show is limited and that probably dos not bode well, long term.

As far as Mick, I do not see it as "debasing"--I think it is great he is able to laugh at himself--much prefer that image to some of his contemporaries (McCartney, Elton John--to name a couple) who take themselves FAR too seriously.

Interestingly--the show got very favorable reviews in the local NY papers who tend to be pretty tough graders (rightfully so) when it comes to sitcoms. Both gave it 3 out of 4 stars.

First off, that is far from an objective opinion on that topic.

Secondly, is it all that different than Keith appearing in a Disney movie, which
is quite similar in that poke fun at his image.

I fail to see how the two are all that, if at all different.

I think both are funny.

I read that Howard Stern was approached about being the robbery victim and turned it down. Jeff Goldblum as well.
