Don't know why this popped into my head? But just wondering. have the Stones ever played the Rose Bowl in socal? Also what other bands have played there?

They don't have concerts there often as they have to be approved by the Pasadena city council with severe restrictions, but yes they did.

Oct 19/21 1994 with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Buddy Guy. I was at both shows.

remember a lot of other shows there.

... but what is memoriable is the guns and roses performance, a knock out....

..that was the Colliseum shows.

I wasn't at the show but I did get an invite to the after party at the American Legion in Hollywood. It was truly a decadent occasion I will never forget.
Lobster, Filet Mignon and lots of illegal substances, not too mention every Hollywood Starlet that could walk.
My favorite memory was the smell of pot billowing out of the VIP lounge where the band held court. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to shake hands with the band. My band had just signed with Virgin so we were lucky just to be there.

That Guns N Roses/Metallica show was one of the worst gigs I have ever seen in my life, redeemed only by the presence of the mighty Motorhead.

It did get a little cheesy after awhile...

Whatch the Bev Hills 90210 Stones episode and although the concert footage they use is from NY, the show centers around a Stones concert at the Rose Bowl.

i believe the stones and depeche mode are the only bands to ever sell out the rose bowl. someone correct me if i'm wrong

I was at the pasadena concert on the 19 oct. took a flight from amsterdam to LA, to see this show. The concert was not the best a i have seen off the stones. heartbreaker was so bad what i remember.

Pink Floyd sold it out twice, though tickets for night 2 were available at the box office the day of the show and tickets were available for the Stones 2nd show for weeks or months, nixing a planned 3rd show (city council had approved 4 shows according to an article in the LA Times in early Jan 1994).

Guns N Roses/Metallica sold it out in way less than an hour though tickets may have once again been made available due to the postponement. The city council would only allow one show so they added a 2nd show at the LA Memorial Coliseum which was only half full. Body Count was supposed to be Faith No More's replacement from what I remember but were not allowed to play either L.A. show due to the raging "Cop Killer" controversy.
