mercy: no way Keith's septum was in need of replacing at that stage - if it ever was.
and i don't remember Tony's book saying that - maybe a general observation about the hazards of snorting.

the fact that Keith's broken his nose is pretty clear in photos starting from early 80,
and his story about how it happened - which CindyC's related - sounds perfectly plausible to me.

Also.....because of your admiration for Keith (& his physical appearance) do you tend to date/marry guys that look like Keith? Just curious. Too personl? sorry.

No, it's not too personal. I have never dated a guy that looks like Keith (unfortunately). Never really dated a rocker actually, I tend to just go out with normal business-y, preppy type boys I guess. Aside from my IORR personality, I'm actually a fairly conservative person.

Eric Hayes thinks it might be one of his - but since he's not sure, it's hard for the rest of us to be. :E
he did take a bunch of very similar shots, obviously from the same few days as that one.
for unknown reasons Bill has them identified as Beggars/68 sessions, but they're real plainly from LIB/69.
it is indeed a beautiful beautiful photo.

I believe in Tony's book there was a mention of Mick T needing to get a plastic implant in his nose due to tissue loss from excessive snorting. One of the benefits of needles I suppose.;-)

yeah, maybe - it's not one of those books i've studied a lot so i may be misremembering.
the Stones' escapades in nasal surgery (or lack thereof) isn't something i feel i know a whole lot about,
but i don't imagine Tony Sanchez does either.

Who's the girl in the back of Keith in the first of Majesty's photos? Is that Anita? Her hair looks too long and her face too narrow. I don't think it's Marianne either. Her hair isn't usually that smooth looking.

I think it might be Bill Wyman's partner Astrid.

That's just a guess though, too blurry to really say for sure.

those are the results of at least two days, actually -
Keith as we know doesn't change his frock much,
especially when he's in the thick of the creative fray

You're right, I think it might be part of a scarf. It's probably Anita, Suki isn't that pretty.

Mick seems to have different shirts on in a couple of shots that Hayes took.
Hayes says he was in the studio with them for two days in a row;
of course the fact that he went home in between doesn't mean all the Stones did.
he also says he was the only photographer there at the time, but not all the shots are his;
and the Stones did invite photographers into the studio during the LIB sessions.

so it comes out to either [a] the shots are a result of more than one day (albeit the same few days),
or it's another case of 60s Photographer Memory Syndrome (and Hayes does have trouble accepting that these are 69, not 68, so ...)

Oh I dont doubt the two day thing, maybe those particular ones are from the same day, but there are others which aren't. Maybe the change in guitars marks the change in days!?

Hah, but I like the idea of them being in the studio all that time though, but Mick popping out for a change of clothes. smiling smiley
