Totally love that Corbijn pic - Keef looks like an old Indian mystic - which as we saw the other day - isn't far from the truth - what, with the rain stick and all ;-)

I don't know about sexy (being a man myself and straight at that)but I often wondered about - given Keef's other habits of not bathing too much and wearing the same clothes for days on end - that he always seems rather well-shaven??

And always has, really. You don't see too many pix of him unshaven?? Not even back in "the bad old days"

Thanks CindyC...that might be what I read. The Tony Sanchez book is really the only Stones book that I've read cover to cover...and I read it 20 yrs ago. It may very well have been Mick Taylor. or Keith? And as SSSOUL said...who's to say that Tony Sanchez is accurate.

Here's another nice shot of Keith......from the gray hair tour. (VDL or B2B?)

Sorry...not sure who shot this.

Hmmm... I do think he had sideburns in the 60's - but it was hidden under his - then - massive hair ;-)

watch Stones in the Park - as Mofur noted, Keith's hair is so long that the sideburns don't show too often,
but they're there, and they're serious.

open g, thanks great pics of course. Do you know from what year? 1982 right? He looks a little like he did in 1980-81 on theat close up, 1981 cloths, but with a red mark on his nose. And it doesnt look broken on that particular pic.

Sorry, I would only be guessing, there are no hints in the writing.
I'm sure someone can answer this.

I did not say he was NEVER unshaven ;-) There are known exceptions to the rule

I've seen that famous photo of him - almost unconscious onstage, leaning against the PA, after having lost his boots somewhere...he's pretty unshaven there, too

My point was that a man who reputedly wears the same clothes for days and hardly - on his own account - bathes....it's extraordinary that he ALMOST always seem to be well shaven

After all - we gotta talk about SOMETHING while we wait for the next tour to be announced *lol*

i'll do my best, Open-G honey - with a bit of editing for clarity:
the RS cover was taken in 1980, as far as i know (Annie Leibowitz of course)
the close-up looks like 82 to me. the bottom one is from 77.

great shots - thanks for posting them.

The Rolling Stone issue is from January 82. The pics could be from 81.

Yes, Keith looks very alike as he did backstage in Hampton 81 BTW, just saw that one again, maybe even exactly the same.
The 3rd photo, isn't that from 77?

right right - sorry, i've edited my post since it wasn't clear.
i thought the question was about that close-up under the stage shot.

Suddenly I remembered where I had seen the 4th picture before....

I think the 3rd picture is from 1977 (not sure though), while
the 4th one is definately from March 1980, same photo session as this

March 1980? Hm, so the red dot on his nose could be the broken nose incident?
