does anyone have any info on the song being jammed on in the background. it says that it is hendrix, brian jones, dave mason and mitch mitchell. when did brian jam with hendrix?
interesting footage to see how sedate the backstage can be.
Where has it been confirmed that it is Brian playing sitar. In Eddie Kramer's Setting the Record Straight he only mentions Dave Mason playing with Mitchell and Hendrix.
In saying that, it does sound like Brian's sitar playing from the 'A Degree of Murder' soundtrack.
Mason plays sitar too, I think. That recording was originally circulated in the mid 80s as a "Sothebys auction tape" featuring two versions of that track.
Brian played piano on All along the watchtower but Jimi erased the track. He knew Jimi pretty well. Brian was the popular one among other musicans and rock stars. J. Morrisson idolized Brian and couldnt give a shite about Mick.

Not strictly true, they attempted to record with Brian playing piano, but it didn;t get beyond one or two incomplete takes. You can hear it on the Electric Ladyland documentary.
Brian is on All Along The Watchtower on the South Saturn Delta CD. Takes of Little One can be found on In The Studio series, can't remember which one and the official Hendrix people might have had the sets withdrawn.
Mick J jammed with Jimi after one of the MSG shows and a fan claims to have the tape.
he played piano on AATW but it was erased. I've heard the piano track and you can see it on a documentary about the making of Electric Ladyland. Woudl have been cool but probably didnt suit the song after all. Today it would have been a nice thing to add.

It's not erased, they just didn't carry on recording with Brian on piano.

I used to have a hendrix bootleg that had this track with Noel Redding singing on it. I think it was called 'There Ain Nothing Wrong With That'
