You're right Elmo. The sad reality is that when The Stones aren't touring there isn't really much to discuss as the band splinter to their own parts of the Globe. Similarly I used to be a paid up member of RS.Com but when there was no tour or album in the offing it really was pretty much a waste of time (an expensive one at that). I think it's a situation that prevails on a variety of boards from music, sports, arts etc. If there isn't much happening then there isn't much to talk about. Keith should have kept his palm tree antics until after the tour so the scribes would have something to write about. We can always keep each other entertained with OT's,'what if's', bickering and totally pointless threads. Oh wait, we did that during the tour! lol
"I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon."
It is a bit of an odd feeling to see the tour taking a long break, altho I could swear I heard my bank account breath a sigh of relief on Sunday morning.
looks like the recording community lost interest down the stretch run...aside from a crappy recording of the dodger stadium gig, nothing from the last handful of shows has appeared....
I was wondering about that. Honestly I'm surprised Vegas hasn't turned up. Either someone's biding their time or no one got it. MGM has been recorded on every tour to my recollection...

Well E.L. l don't think there will be another tour to talk about for a long time if at all. So l guess we will have to come up with other subjects to banter about, How about who is better Mick T or Ronnie? or does M taylor has vibrato? Just joking Maybe Mr LK can give us some never discussed subjects Anyway it has been a lot of fun.
It amazes me that as many die hard fans as there are, more shows aren't recorded. The microphones cost what, $200-$300 now? A pittance compared to what some fans spend following the band around, and it's a one time expense at that.
You'd think at least one person per show (out of an average of what, 20,000?) would go in miced and record it. It wouldn't matter if they didn't know how to mix it, they could post the raw file and somebody somewhere would mix it. Maybe in addition to designating a "setlist reporter" for each show someone should organize having a designated "setlist recorder" each time.

you can still complain about set lists. thats what the archives are for. you can go back and say for instance, "remember san diego '05? that set list totally blew"

Oh goody. In that case. That LA setlsit last Wed. sucked. I feel so much better now.

uh oh - i hope stonestod doesn't end up on the edge of the golden gate bridge!
Oh well, I'm also a big Ramones fan, and their fan sites are stuggling a bit for new content "between tours" these days. Things could be worse, people.
