I've been listening to alot of early Stones latetly 63-67,for the interaction of Keith and Brian on Guitars. We get caught up on the Woodie/Taylor thing, and this stuff takes a back seat. Down the Road Apice,The Last Time,19th Nervous Breakdown,Fight 505,,etc,etc....clearly shows the rapport that they had together. Imagine them two in 62 learning how to play together..Sublime.. Swing on gentlemen.

Actually, Brian slid for about a year, not playing any guitar on Buttons and TSMR. But by 1968, he was beginning to go back to the guitar, playing on JJF and No Expectations among others.
I never get tired of listening to the earliest stuff and playing the who's-doing-what guessing game:
Whose guitar is playing? Now then, THAT's definitely Keith, so THAT other bit must be Brian... Is that Mick or Brian on harp? Stu or someone else on piano or organ? Who's enjoying themselves so much singing the backup "Oh YEAH's" on Tell Me? Who's that whistling on Walk The Dog? And just listen to Mick (I think) adding so much with tambourine, maraccas or just handclaps...
And when you fit all the bits together - just LISTEN to them!
