To me, its tasteless only. I would imagine Joe Jagger's children and grandchildren would be the ones who would be offended. How would you feel to see a 93 year old family member you love depicted on their deathbed for the intended amusement of millions of readers?
Yeah Harm - i do think it's just tasteless. The "Keith looks like a corpse" jokes have been around for 30+ years. Very unoriginal and certainly not the occasion to make such a lame-ass joke.
Very bad form NY Post.
I'm not offended by anyone posting it here however, it is Stones related after all.
At the risk of sounding like an old fud I think it is just tasteless. What I think is tasteless is mainly that it was put out by a major newsrag. I bet Jagger is going to tear them a new one!
"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."
The Post is considered a shitty paper, it's one step away from simply being a gossip rag. However, tons of people read it because the format is more condusive for reading on public transportation.

Oh come on, you know you laughed.
But just for the record it is tasteless.(but still funny)

I DIDN'T, I SWEAR!
I'm not sitting over here all high and mightly, and perhaps I would've felt differently about the cartooon if it wasn't such an obvious punchline. I can forgive many things, but not predictable humor.

All right, I believe you. I guess it is just my warped sense of humor. But hey it is the NY Post. It is just a rag.

Oh come on! So are you going to sit there and tell me that you have not heard at least 20 Keith Richards "walking dead" jokes by people like Letterman, Leno, Conan, SNL, Mad TV, Denis Leary, Robin Williams and MANY MANY MANY MANY others?
Perhaps you don't watch as much tv as I do, but the joke is over, stick a fork in it.
I've a pretty twisted sense of humour normally and can understand that being considered 'funny' in some tacky teen website but to publish a cartoon like that in a daily newspaper is pretty tasteless and inexcusable.

It isn't a daily newspaper. It is a tabloid, and should be considered as such. It is not quite the NY Times.
To be expected though... unfortunately. Think of all the Princess Diana jokes. And even you laugh sometimes, even though it's tasteless... why is that?
Whether its funny or not is a different argument. I'd just expect higher standards in a newspaper - any newspaper, even a rag like the NY Post.
The Mick and Keith bits arent tasteless - they're used to having the piss taken out of them and their 'image', but I think its a bit much to post a cartoon mocking an old man - who isnt even a public figure - on his deathbed. Especially with him not even having been buried yet. Bad form.
