There just aren't any words for anyone in a time like this, I'm sure. I can't even fathom what it's like to lose a loved one, let alone what Mick is feeling. It's a shame that he has to perform tonight, he needs to be with loved ones, he needs to be home. He needs to be surrounded by love right now. I think we should shift our thoughts from how the concerts will be affected, and simply have Mick and his family in our thoughts and prayers. I know mine will go out to him tonight and in the coming days. My condolences to Mick. This isn't a good day.

bassplayer617,WHO ARE YOU! Number one were talking about Mick Jagger. The best front man of all time. Not some dive bar player. Number two it's his father. Number three i think he should take at least a week off and deal with the family as best he can. My deepest sympathy goes out to the whole Jagger family just like rrronie said. RIP.

Mick is an orphan now....

It's hard to be sad when the man almost hit 100, saw ALL of his son's success, and had a healthy (not just long) life. You know how many people make it to their 60's and still have a living parent? It's very rare. Mick and Joe and Chris were lucky, very lucky...... RIP Joe, you lucked out, may we all make it to 70, after 80 it's all bonus time......

I'm glad i'm not there. That's why i canceled to much for me!

Condolences to Mick and his family. It must be really tough for them all.

I imagine it must be very surreal. I was just thinking, after reading that post above about how mick was told shortly after he arrived in vegas that his father had passed away, that mick for example couldve been in the limo on the way from the airport to his hotel, and he's driving past all these neon lights and huge hotels, and the crazy scene that is las vegas, and then his phone rings and he is told, and he feels a million miles from home, and its so far from the life and culture that his dad provided him with as a child. I know im getting heavy, but what a cold, strange city las vegas must feel like, when you get news like that.

RIP. My sympathies to Mick and the family. It was touching to see them together in "Being Mick". God give Mick strength, I don't think he should have to perform tonite. "The show must go on"? I think the rest of the tour should be cancelled with what Mick and Ronnie are going through.

Mr. Jimmy, no doubt Mick has seen a clash of universes in one day that most people will never see in a lifetime. Vegas, hopefully, will give Mick the energy he will need to get through this night.

I am sorry he felt the need to come back and I feel suddenly heartbroken in sympathy for someone who feels the need to go forward on a commitment and wonder how many other times the show has had to gone on when the parties were not up to it.

The money/luxury thing is totally NOT what i was getting at, i just meant the whole 'coldness' of vegas. Even if he's only there for a few hours, he's still gonna be seeing these images as he's on his way to/from the airport/hotel/venue, and it will be strange, even for him. Yes, he travels alot, but even he is not used to doing transatlantic flights days in a row. He would never normally do that would he?!

I hope Mick said everything he wanted to say to his dad and feels at peace with his last visit. It's unfortunate he wasn't there when he passed. The fans would understand if shows are cancelled. Back in 69 when Brian died it was business as usual then too.

Salt of the Earth would be nice, his father seemed to be that type of person.

Let's drink to the hard working people
Let's drink to the salt of the earth
Let's drink to the two thousand million
Let's think of the humble of birth

I don't care if you have two cents in your pocket, or two billion dollars in the bank, losing your father is, in part losing oneself.

I'll open a beer and drink to the hard working people.

Sway, I imagine would be a tough song to do, but maybe theraputic....ah who knows? I tip my hat to Mick.

Ain't flinging tears out on the dusty ground
For all my friends out on the burial ground
Can't stand the feeling getting so brought down

RIP Joe Jagger.

I don't think I can even imagine what Mick is feeling right now, doing a show the day his father died. It's going to be a weird concert for him. God bless him and God bless Joe Jagger, may he rest in peace.

yes, and from my experience in vegas last spring and the sit-on-your-ass audience, i can't imagine he's going to feel all the love he needs tonight...

I have to agree with MicksBrain. The man was 95 and lived a great life from what I've heard and read. It seemed that Mick appreciated having his father around. I wish that the many older folks that live alone in nursing homes had someone to visit and care for them. I work in the healthcare field and deal with these poor folks everyday. Hopefully many of us will learn to appreciate our folks WHY THEY ARE HERE. It seems like Mick did. I'm sure it was hard for Mick but at that age not at all unexpected.

Thank you KCSTONES, a voice of reason enters the picture...... and who's equating everything with money - I meant it to say he can afford a private jet to get back to London right away so it's ALMOST like taking a taxi from London to Vegas and back....little comprehension would help......

Dad's passing leaves an emptiness nothing can fill. But so it must be, from generation to generation.
What a legacy he left.

I can't beleive that people are saying that it isn't that bad since his father was in his 90's. Wow, yeah that's great he has lived so long but this doesn't make loosing him any easier. Maybe in the long run it might be easier than loosing someone much younger because he has lived such a long wonderful life, but in the moment a loss of a loved one is still a huge loss.

I hope that if Mick comes here he looks past the negative posts and just reads the good wishes. My sincere condolences to the whole family.
