"Attempts to contact the band’s management prior to press time were unsuccessful. "

Prior to press time? It's an internet site, there is no press time deadline.

I've held off booking my flight from London to Newark next Thursday 16th just for the moment. Sounds like I've been wise to. My God I do hope this isn't true, although a gut feeling tells me that it might just be. Things just don't seem to be going their way at the moment.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. They should have called this tour "The Accident Prone Tour".

There's an article in the Los Angeles paper today reminding everyone that the
show was moved to the 22nd... and tickets are still available!!!

it sucks....but it's reality/inevitable considering everything that has been mentioned on this board (age/schedule/outdoor gigs in november/health)...if they end up playing all/most of the dates i will be surprised.

sucks for fans....and i truly believe that band hates cancelling but.....when the schedule the next tour, maybe they'll be more responsible (1 gig per 4 days).

is there any validity to this whatsoever?

jagger was definitely in england, visiting his father - the word I'd heard is that he would be back stateside in time for LV.

All those $450 tickets and record tour grosses assure that Mick can afford a private plane to take him to London and back in time for the Las Vegas show. I would say that next Friday night after the Atlantic City show, with 5 days until the show in Los Angeles, Mick will again fly back to the UK.

Maybe if he stopped doing so much effing flying his voice wouldn't suffer so much from all that dry, stale, germ filled air on the plane (no matter what size it is)

BTW, how are the shows selling? I think LA is doing pretty slow business.....

If your dad was very sick (and very old) would you give a shit about your voice? In any case, I'm sure Mick will be back for Vegas!

If my dad was 95 I'd kinda be ready for SOMETHING to happen - that's life (my dad died when I was 6 so I had to deal with that...you know, sh*t happens, blah, blah, blah....)

I got one of these package for LA gig. The people in this company are usually well informed of what's up with the tour as they do package for most of the concerts and so far everything is confirmed OK for the 22nd in LA.

No

Just mailed someone whose dad works on the tour about this rumour - he said he was speaking to him earlier today and he mentioned NOTHING about it.

Sounds like bullshit.

Well If it's true it kind of self-inflicted to be honest. There's an upside to it though if the Stones do indeed decide to come back to Europe next year then I think they will have to think very long & hard about coming back under the "Bigger Bang" tour name. It might be the case that they have to come up with something fresh and start over so to speak with something different. I don't know why they tour under the album name anyway cause most of the time you'll get max 3-4 songs off the album (and the same 3 or 4 at that). A much better approach would be "The Rolling Stones: Live" kind of like the Bob Dylan & his band: Live & In Person. Maybe a tour to promote the DVD would be good where they do a set of songs that encompasses different periods of their career in smaller and more intimate venues. Like the licks tour which kind of spurred them on to dig out some real gems every night and to incorporate more song changes into the set on any given night!

2 words.........."internet rumor"

Besides, if there was an ounce of truth to this, why would they sit on it as opposed to releasing it immediately?
