The "official" who is NOT going to the Beacon ...
Posted by: liddas ()

Once again I'm not in, shit!, to have a last chance I should fly to NY and hope.

Same old story, so close, damn close, then ...

It hurts, I know It's going to be a great show, this was a great tour! I am a big fan of THIS band (the Vegas Stones), love them!

Anyway I'm happy because many of us made it. It seems to me more than in the past. Probably this time (I don't know how) they found the way to deliver the tix the fans!

Aren't you from Italy Liddas? You wanna fly to New York with no ticket and only a small chance of getting one? THAT's a fan in my book...

I already did it for MSG in 2003, and Black Crows at the Hammersmith 2005, so I am used to it ...

Still havn't bought the flight though. Problem is that I will not be alone, because if I go my lady will come as well. 1 ticket maybe, two mission impossible. I'll toss a coin later

I also can't go.
a) I got no ticket.
b) I never donated anything to Clinton's foundation.
c) New York City is about 10,000 km away, I guess and gas prices and the Atlantic ocean are two strong points against a weekend trip to the Beacon.

cheer up Euros, I'm sure we've got a mini tour to look forward to next summer, and I'll bet there will be at least one 'club' gig amongst it.

I will watch this show in my living room on the DVD when it comes out. Overnight stays are free, you can bring your own alcohol, and smoking is not only allowed but encouraged.

Well, I mostly post on IORR, & since only Shidoobee folks are allowed to go...I guess I'm out. Does this mean the Stones like those fans more than us? It sure as heck seems so to me...which sucks since IORR is the better board & been around longer. This isn't a shot at Shidoobee, Doug is a really nice guy as are some of the members I've met (although I do find the constant Shidoobee advertising a bit annoying...but I digress). I'm just saying it seems the Stones themselves have stated that Shidoobee folks are real fans...and the rest of us are crap. At least I didn't have to pay $100 to get screwed out of tix this time.

Sure, the event is free, altho there is a $20 "convenience charge" and it's $30 to park.

BTW...plenty tix on ebay at varying prices... Look at it thi way...if you're willing to pay between $200 & $400 for a stadium show, then why not for an intimate and rare theater show? Supply and demand people, supply & demand.
"I DEMAND they supply me a cheap ticket!" LOL
:-)

Geography man! Us west coast stones fans, suffer almost as much as the Euros. Location, location, location. I would not have a huge problem paying a grand or two for a club show. But to have to fly across the country is another story. Can it always be about greed. I have long thougt they should just do a small theatre tour. Then charge a large amount for tickets. I am not a finacial expert, but in the end, given the costs of hauling a large set across the counrty. As well as other expenses with outdoor shows. The finances woud probably work out close. Espicially with a corp. sponsor.

ah yes.. a tour for the millionaires....maybe they could follow "a bigger bang" with "a bigger buck"..

why do you say its always about greed? they are charging people 25 or 50 bucks??? how is that about greed? they could have easily charged $400 and sold out the place

What I mean is, the Beacon shows are just a token. They are only doing them to film a movie they will kake money off later. Why not do multiple nights in key cities, charge what scalpers would get anyway, and play fo the diehards. Yeah I know I'm dreaming again. But at least I am putting my money where my mouth is. I am going to 3 shows on the west coast. So I will still see them anywhere. Just wish I had the chance to see them in a small theatre.

....sounds good, can I come? Also, since it's being filmed at least we'll see and hear part of the experience even if we can't be there....besides I'M headed for the AC show tomorrow...so I'm not feeling so bad...

yeah, i'll bet there will be a 'club gig' next year in Europe,
and i'll also bet, it will be open for US citizens to buy tickets.
