To all the people, who criticize Keith's set...

During this tour, I heard a lot of people bitching about Keith's set.
Okay, a bit more viriety between two or three following shows would be better, but if you discount, how many diferent songs he played, you might be surprised.

Bigger Bang:
-Happy
-Before They Make Me Run
-Infamy
-Little T&A
-You Got The Silver
-The Worst
-Slipping Away
-This Place Is Empty
-Learning The Game
==> 9 songs until now

Licks:
-Before They Make Me Run
-Happy
-You Don't Have To Mean It
-Thru And Thru
-Slipping Away
-The Worst
-Nearness Of You
==> 7 different songs

Bridges To Babylon
-Wanna Hold You
-Thief In The Night
-You Don't Have To Mean It
-All About You
==> 4 songs, with No Security (+Before They Make Me RUn, You Got The Silver)
==> 6 songs

Voodoo Lounge:
-Before They Make Me Run
-Happy
-Connection
-Slipping Away
-The Worst
==> 5 songs

Sttel Wheels:
-Happy
-Before They Make Me Run
-Can't Be Seen
==> 3 songs

so...

How many different songs did he play in Europe 2006 when some (not everybody!) were bitching?

Keith also did Thief In The Night once.

I think the focus of criticism is that he tends to play the same two songs for maybe 20-25 shows in a row, and then changes them both at the same time

On the last tour and on BTB, if you went to see back to back shows in the same place over 2 nights, there was a very good chance you would hear 4 different songs. His mini-set was much more 'random' than it is now, in fact it was often the least predictable part of the show. On this tour, its generally been the MOST predictable. So if you were to see only one leg of the tour, you might only get a choice of two or three songs.

Gazza, it's pretty amazing that after starting off slowly, they now have played 67 different songs on this tour counting the short Wichita Lineman and El Paso. That number should grow as well with the Beacon shows coming up.

Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle had only 37 different songs, Voodoo Lounge had 60, Bridges/No Security had 76 and Licks with its varied setlists for different types of venues had 78.

I've had some very good luck on this tour in getting 45 different songs in 6 shows, which is ahead of where I was at this point for Licks. For Licks I was at 41 different songs after 7 shows, then I pciked up 9 additional in my 8th and final show in Utrecht, to end up with 50 total. It's possible that I will pick up 5 additional songs in my 7th and final ABB show on November 18th and equal what I got on Licks.

Correct. And 1981/82 tour had only 33 different songs. I suppose 1978 tour had even fewer, because the setlists were shorter.

I think it was right for Keith (and the Stones) to play stuff from the new album, given that the tour was connected with ABB. So playing Infamy made perfect sense; can't knock it as far as I'm concerned, given that they were in a new city for every performance.
As for what Keith's done since the opening tour dates, he can't be faulted except in giving people what they want: you want the silver, you got the silver. Not Happy? We give you Happy. Want a lil T&A, you got it. The man is the man. He's delivered in spades, and that after people complained that the Stones wouldn't do fifty different tracks for the entire tour.

Okay, I'm sounding too much like bv now, somebody slap me.

......In Austin they finally took some risks.............I think that's what hardcore fans want to see...a pulse......a great band willing to take some chances and not just do the crowd pleasers only. No one can complain about the Austin set list...I don't care how many changes Keith has made on ABB tour vs Licks or BTB tour.......we've heard most of these same songs before....and some might think ....better...........last night they pushed the boundaries.....great to see again.

For the shows I've seen in Europe, he played the same songs, exept for Paris, because he had already played the same songs in the Licks tour...

That didn't stop him in other places like London for one of quite a few examples.

I LOVE Keef's sets because it's a great chance to run to the bafroom and you can still hear him while you're in the pisser...

You got the silver and Little T&A are among my favourite songs. Hope to hear them in Europe next year in the Royal Albert Hall

correct. Apart from the minor gripe that they only did 2 ABB songs, Austin had one of the best setlists of the whole tour (whoops..am I allowed to comment on what a good one it was even though I wasnt there?). Very interesting indeed

Doubt it'll stay at 21 songs though, as that increase probably only happened because it was being filmed (see Paris Olympia 2003) but this current leg has certainly had some welcome surprises.

I like Keith's set, it's actually quite unpredictable.
So far I have listened to him sing:

Can't Be Seen
Happy
Connection
Thru and Thru
Thief in the Night
Before they Make Me Run
The Worst
This Place is Empty
Slipping Away

I can't really complain about his set ...

Keiths two songs were the highlight of the Berlin show for me, this summer. Superb version of 'Before they make me run'. It was excellent in Nice as well. Enjoyed it at the UK shows too, although by then I was hoping he'd mix it up a bit
