It was a fantastic day at Zilker park, it was a fantastic crowd and it was a fantastic show. The energy level was very high from beginning to end....Mick was absolutely on fire!

Gotta agree with Gazza, particularly when one considers folks like Dylan, Springsteen, Neil Young, and others that will a) play new stuff at the sake of disenfranchising some fans, while also b) challenging their fans by saying this is where we're at now, where are you, and c) rewarding those folks who've followed their tours and releases by playing some of the lesser known tracks. The Stones themselves did this (much more) on the Licks tour, and I'd venture to say it was the most successful tour they've done, artistically and commercially.

IMHO

what a great show!

for me Sympathy for the Devil really stood out...as well as Get Off My Cloud....nothing like a gathering of 40,000 singing the chorus....as well as the OO-OOs

the shoot 'em dead, brainbell jangler!

I must say I like this new trend of obscure covers (well, at least to me theyre obsucre). Esepecially after hearing they played the entire bob wills is still the king. and all acutsticly. pretty cool. I would like to see this sort of thing continue.

But BV, they have plenty of well known songs that they could easily play as well. Not just obscure relics that t die hards clamor for. What about Street Fighting Man, Sweet Virginia, Let it Bleed, Angie , Wild Horses , Dead Flowers. These are all well known songs, still played on FM radio in the U.S. They should take the place on a regular basis of the same songs they have played for years. I am not just "whining" about the setlist. I am still going to 3 shows on teh west coast and I am sure I will enjoy myself regardless.

Most folks, appx 95% are not as a big of fans as the fans on this site and they'd rather hear the Hot Rocks/Greatest Hits rather than the lesser known songs not as oftenly played on el radio.
I'd rather hear more from Exile on Main Street than Sucking in the 70's but that's the way ot goes... just glad they are still around doing what they do!

The only times when I don't mind the setlists that much is when I am 10 m from the band. Just to be able to watch them from close distance is an event on itself.
