I checked out the new Stonesbook by Bent Rej called "In The Beginning" not expecting much but this one is an absolute must. Big oversized, glossy, all previously unseen pics of the Stones with Brian in all their chainsmoking, striped jumper wearing, uncombed youthful glory. Really a goodlooking book.

Get it while it's hot. Only printed in 500.000 copies...

I just received today a call from the french publisher regarding "The Rolling Stones - In The Beginning" as I'm about to promote it for France.

What a book ! 300 rare and unseen shots, 320 pages, 5.63 pounds !

Bill Wyman from the foreword : "The finest single collection of Stones photographs I have ever seen".

The book will be released in a couple of weeks in France with a foreword by Philippe Manoeuvre (Rock & Folk) who's absolutely fan of the work by danish photograph Ben Rej.

Gazza, I bought this book at Borders in London, it´s a must have.

I ordered a copy a few days ago via amazon.co.uk for £15 (instead of £40 rrp).

I received the "french" book yesterday and read it this morning (while listening "Got Live If You Want It" advised by Philippe Manoeuvre in his foreword !). It's really great and not very easy to tell the work of Bent Rej should be a true success. The all fans will be quiet happy for sure.

Could some of the readers will tell me how many unpublished shots they found please ??

YES Gazza, you want this book.

A friend sent it to me and I expected a small sweet bunch of good but not great photos. This is a LOT more than that.

I always think in looking back that the bands I know, admire etc. were at their most fascinating and real in the "struggling" times when they were still giving birth to themselves.

I wrote the book will be 40 € in France : 45 € is the right price !
