I just recently downloaded, and put on the computer all of his solo albums I had together.Got me a good left-handed ciggi, hit the random and let it fly. She's the Boss 1985 Primitve Cool 1987 Wandering Spirit 1993 Goddess in the Doorway 2001 Alfie soundtrack 2004 I was only into Wandering Spirit and Goddess..,but when Alfie came out it made me go back to the first two.I heard them all the way threw only once or twice, so it is very interesting to hear the track selection the computer is playing, put me in a good mood after a stressful day. I know the Stones catalog backwards and forward'this a good break from it.
PS I always wonder why Keith is so hateful towards his solo work.Mick could have showed up at any Stones rehearsals with any of the songs off his last 3 solo projects and Keith would have recorded them.. What is the view on his solo stuff on this forum....also I love all the solo stuff so I'm not talking about competition.
I love his and Bowie's cover of Dancing In the Street and Let's Work is a guilty pleasure for me. Just Another Night is good too, even if it is very 80's.

There are no exceptions. Mick outside of the Stones is very miserable, starting off with Jackson 5 duet. Mick needs Keith, otherwise he's lost in my opinion.
First of all FREEJACK is NOT a great movie but what has THAT Got to do with Stones music or Mick's solo cd's?? ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN NOTHING! Now I understand some of you just like to get a rise out of us so with that recognized I'll take it easy on you....HOWEVER, ALL of Mick's solo stuff is really VERY GOOD, except LET'S WORK, and ALFIE IS AWESOME! That soundtrack is amazng! It stands on it's own wonderfully, and as for why Keith gets a hair across his ass where Mick's material is concerned, in a word, JEALOUS!!!!KEITH could NEVER has written " OLD HABITS DIE HARD", he just basicly writes one way these days, actually since the 80's. He is in a time warp but fortunately Mick still can knock off a tune, write great lyrics and even play the guitar and drums when necessary. Suck On The Jugular does stink but its 1/2 Keith's mess.
Keith is jealous,Mick has enough tunes to go around, also I think Suck on the juglar is all Mick.Keith probably said whatever. Also there is a clip in the Being Mick dvd where Mick is singing or working on Old Habits Die hard,I'll look at it tonight to see if I spot it,so I don't think D.Stewart contributed that much on that song. PS.Thanks Debra for those words, you are soooo right..
I know he gets a credit, Ryan, ( for writing on OLD HABITS) but I agree with CURTISDAVIS, I believe most of it is Mick's song. P.S. You are so welcome, curtis! We must keep these rogues in line!

Well, I think that is the very reason why he is hateful, and feels like Mick is a betrayer or something. According to Keith, Mick should do 'Mick Jagger Sings Frank Sinatra' sort of thing if he wants to do a solo album - nothing musically comparable to The Stones.
We can argue over whether Talk is Cheap is better than Wandering Spirit. But it does not really matter. Neither of them are close to what Mick and Keith together have done.
I have all of his solo stuff except Primitive Cool.
She's The Boss- a couple good songs but too much of that eightees sound.
Wandering Spirit- great album all the way through.
Goddess In The Doorway- his most underrated album. I Love "Visions of Paradise", "Don't Call Me Up", "Too Far Gone".
Alfie soundtrack- good not great. Love "Blind Leading The Blind" and "Old Habits Die Hard". Songs didn't get much exposure since the movie was a stinkbomb. "Old Habits.." won the golden globe award for best movie song? Jagger at the acceptance speech cracked a joke about the movie tanking.
"I would like to thank everyone working at Paramount, and everyone who used to work at Paramount"- Jagger

That is not the point..everybody knows that.but I would put Wandering Spirit against Voodoo anyday of the weak.
Wandering Spirit is one of the best Stones related albums since TY. The upcoming Barbarians release got me thinking: is it possible Mick decides to release the blues album he cut with the Red Devils in the future? Wouldn't do his credibility as a blues inspired artist any harm, would it?
Old Habits Die Hard is very Mick for sure. Sound like Biggest Mistake. I agree that Mick is the productive one these days. It seems like a Lennon/McCartney relationship these days. Mick can write steady good songs, but Keith delivers the masterpieces (Rough Justice and I bet most of Back Of My Hand).
For me WS is Micks outstanding solo-effort! I really love it, almost only great songs (exspecially: Sweet Thing, the title track, Wired All Night,DonĀ“t tear me up, Out of focus, etc.)
His other solo records are by far not that strong; on each one i find a couple of good songs (STB: Just another night, PC: Kow Tow, Shoot Off Your Mouth, Peace For The Wicked, GITD: God Gave Me Everything, Gun, Too Far Gone), but the rest has no stones qualitiy!
But i principle i understand that he wants to go solo from tiime to time....
Me neither, but I can't place my right hand on my heart and say that I didn't download Streets Of Love/Back Of My Hand/Rough Justice when it was posted on this board just before the release
Back of My Hand is mostly a Mick song although Keith had some input. Mick plays the slide, the bass, the harmonica, and percussion on the studio. Keith and Charlie are on it too but that is it.
