The one from Horsens. Or maybe the one on Flashpoint although I hate the sound on that acoustic.

One of the few tunes that's performed better now than in 1989

Columbus on the No Security Tour

It seemed to have less Chuck and more guitar.
It was faster and had more of a urgent and kickass feel to it.

The songs played on both tours are pretty much all are performed better now except for Sympathy.'89 had the worst live versions of songs like Bitch,Brown Sugar,IORR - you name it.If you're going to put on a modern live version of Rambler, are you really going to go for the '80's version?I hate the way the warhorses sounded on the Steel Wheels tour.

One more vote for Bremen 1998 Paint It Black, the runner up might be Hartford '99.I haven't heard any yet from Europe '06 other than the one video on the official website.

I can tell you that the WORST rendition of Paint It Black surely must have been Manchester 2003!

Jagger started singing at an octave or two higher than the rest of the band, running into trouble after the first couple of lines.

The Flashpoint version stands out for me as the best.

You know singing Paint It Black two octaves higher would be pretty hard.

You can hear it in all it's glory on a Crystal Cat 2CD bootleg of the show.

You'll fall about laughing when it comes to the "I see the girls go by..." by which time Jagger has started to overcompensate by singing in a hideous deep voice!

You're right about Midnight Rambler, for most shows, with thr possible exception of the Tokyo 1990 MR, which is fantastic due to Mick kind of seventies growly vocals. Start Me Up was better in 89 - 90, Bitch at least as good in 89 as since, again much due to vocals; and energy. YCAGWYW better in 89 - 90 than since. Satisfaction, horrible in 89 - 90, I must admit. Both Brown Sugar and JJF are at least as good in 1989 as since, better vocals then, better guitar sound now. Rock And A Hard Place, great in 89 - 90, not good since. Under Cover Of The Night; great(!) in 1989, not much good since. Etc.

Oh, and I forgot the obvious one, IORR, way way way better in 1989 - 90 than since! TD about the same quality throughout the 90s, but for different reasons. Enough already. Perhaps.

I can't agree at all.Maybe the songs that were new at the time such as Rock And A Hard Place were better,Undercover Of The Night was alright (I prefer the Washington D.C. '94 and the Philadelphia/Detroit 2002 versions) but,Bitch was more drenched in horns than it is now and the 2005 versions of IORR blow away the '89/'90 versions.Gimme Shelter and Street Fighting Man were probably the best sounding warhorses on that tour but,I believe even they were better performed after that particular tour.
