I agree with you on that. Ive been thinking that recently when listening to brussels affair. Its really hard rocking but also soulful. Its a purely stones sound. I love the horns section on that, they do this punchy thing with two of the same note in played a row, but the second one is longer and fades away, its perfect. The way the energy builds up for the final part of the song... Its Crazy!!

Ive often said how BOB is my favorite stones song. All down the line live comes in a close second for me.

yeh that show and that period is becoming increasingly important to me as i slowly get more booted up...two gigs in belgium and one more in germany and then taylor is out...(and no full horn section again for 16 years...)
this was a bigger horn section than the n. american leg; bright and sprightly and i did notice those percussive blasts, just amazing; the whole thing...
preston on that leg? stu is there... no nicky? i guess this should be it's own thread one of these days...fascinates me anyway...and the music is so solidd it just is totally peaking...i hope that boot is never re=mixed or anything...everything perfect...jagger flubs the lyrics at the end and it dosen't even matter...he just says 'oh yeah' ...waits and 'oh yeah' everything is going so totally hot..what a band...everything great about them shines here so brightly firecely and naturally...they are way over 100% here; this is legendary; this is the primal dirt and in it's own hot and exotic land...the real stuff imo and was so pleased to recently get a chance at this stuff...overwhelming...not one of them outshines any other...it is a serious band and it's just groundbreaking stuff...

Yea Beelyboy, that's a killer show, it was Billy Preston who replaced Nicky Hopkins in Europe 1973, and Bobby Keys left the band in early October, because of a bathtub filled with champagne. Trevor Lawrence and Steve Madaio took over the blowing. No overdubs on Brussels..I think, Steve Madaio played with Bob Dylan in 1978. Such a powerhouse of a bootleg that Brussels recording, only drawback the out of tune Street Fighting Man

I would say 'Laugh, I nearly died'.

Although I think I prefer Already over me. But the chorus / fade-out on already over me is like the end of Torn and Frayed.
