Unreleased Songs
Posted by: René ()
Date: September 13, 2006 23:08

OK, let's start a topic about unreleased songs in the best available recording sound quality, in other words, they could have been released in this form officially.
So it's not about the quality of the song or if it's finished or not.
Also, no alternate takes of officially released songs and no live tracks.

Please name the song and the CD where it's available on (in the best available recording sound quality of course).

I'll start with:

- Looking Tired (true stereo mix)
From The Black Box-Special Millenium Edition 4CD Box (YD 046/8 2000)

Ready, Steady, Go!!!

Not sure about the BearShare version, but most issues of this track needed a speed/pitch adjustment (played way too slow). The first correction that I noticed was done by MickBoy on his IORR release.

Criss Cross Man
a simple song, but I like it very much. Available in excellent sound quality, could have been part of Goats Head Soup.

I Can See It - is my favorite.

I Can See It is an early working of Live With Me (musically), doncha think?

You should have mentioned Gangsters Maul too. StonesTod would have tracked you down wherever you lived.

StonesTod: Yeah, Reelin' And Rockin', thats a good one! (also on Reelin' And Rockin' (VGP-274). Sister Morphine uses the VGP titles for their releases, don't they?
All Drift Away versions I'm aware of run too slow, but don't you think the MickBoy remaster runs too fast?

Rockman: For Your Precious Love, priceless........
What's the sound quality of those Keith tunes from High Temperature (VGP 285)?

Erik Snow: Is that the version with the best recording sound quality of I Need You available? The ones I heard aren't that good. Great song anyway!
Is there a better version available of Gangster's Moll than the one that's on Lonely At The Top/Nasty Habits (VGP-057)?

Pokalheld: The best version available of Save Me (a.k.a. Criss Cross) is the one with the sax en lead vocal overdubs from Lonely At The Top/Nasty Habits (VGP-057), don't you think? The version from Acetates (Midnight Beat 045) doesn't have that overdubs.

CindyC: The best version of Get Yourself Together (a.k.a.I Can See It) is the one on The Black Box-Special Millenium Edition 4CD Box (YD 046/8 2000), don't you think?

Thanx!

More.............???????

Renê, I only got I Need You on Place Pigalle, I can't afford all the boots.
But, the quality is perfect, yes perfect.

No to my ears. Sounds right.

I think I'm in the minority on this, but after the 17 year wait, I was not that impressed and can easily see why it was left off the album. Mick's vocals just aren't up to snuff...

ST - I'm not hearing it. I mean they both have a prominent bass sound, but otherwise, I'm listening to it, and can't find the tune for LWM, othere than a few notes here and there.

Oh yeah - Gangsters Maul. Just wanted to get you all riled up again.

Wind Call, although not a song you put on album but maybe as a flipside of single

It's mostly in the bass line riff - which basically defines both songs. Oh, well - some of our ears are just better trained perhaps ;-) (that's for the mauling taunt)....

Your wife must have trained your ears after she was done training you to be her bitch.

;-)

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Rockman: Thanx, never heard those Keith songs from High Temperature, sounds interesting!

Erik Snow: Thanx for the info on I Need You, sounds interesting to!

Kait: We Had It All is not on my Acetates (Midnight Beat 045) copy. Which Acetates CD do you mean?

StonesTod: Maybe you're right about the speed of Drift Away from MickBoy. I will give it another listen.
About For Your Precious Love: Maybe it's the first impression of the sensation to hear a "new' unreleased song after all those years. Time will tell if this feeling will last long I guess.

NICOS & 999: Good choices. Like You Got It Made from Voodoo Stew to.
Wind Call is a instumenatl, isn't it?

Anyone got any thoughts about the sound quality of the inclompete version of Save Me / Criss Cross Man from Acetates and the complete one (with overdubs) from Lonely At The Top/Nasty Habits (VGP-057)?
