Hi Buffalo 7478. 50000 in Halifax is not too bad considering the city only has around 300,000 residents and they drew 80,000 last year in nearby Moncton which is even smaller! Compare that with probably 55000 at Giants Stadium in a metro area with well over 10 million!
Maybe Cohl is planning another US tour next summer, along with Europe?

The Stones will decide where to play that date based on the outcome of tonight's Monday Night Football game.
Saints won big. Does that mean the Falcons won't be on that Monday or Thursday night? If so, then plenty of time to set up and tear down the stage between Sundays. Sorry, Fred, I don't think the Fox is gonna happen. If it does, you get all the credit!

It means Atlanta won't get a third date on the tour. They'll play N.O. instead. They're going to bulldoze most of the lower Ninth Ward and set up a huge stage next to Fats Domino's house. It'll be bigger than Halifax, Hyde Park and Altamont combined, and Fats will replace Chuck on keyboards.
Elmo, No, I only got to go to the New Orleans show in 78 and the 2 Orlando shows in 81. I have heard stories of the Stones at the Fox and would sure love to witness it for myself.
I am going to continue to hope for it! It can't hurt me!
That was a fantastic weekend for me! I sent off and got 2 sets of 10 tickets for the Sat. show in the mail. I traded a friend a Sunday ticket for one of my Saturday tickets. 20 of us vcaravaned down and I stayed the extra night and caught a Gray Hound bus back to Savannah. Those were fun days for sure! Hope to see you soon. Fred
.....and Van Halen was the opener? I had friends from NC go to those Orlando shows. To this day I still hear them talk about it. One of my buddies died not long after those shows. I visited him in the hospital a bunch and he was still talking about that Stones/Van Halen concert before he died. It was that much fun for him!!

That tour, Van Halen was the best opener for a Stones show for me that I have seen yet. Friday night, Alice Cooper has a shot at that position. It will be hard for him to top Van Halen's 81 shows. The Stones were bad to the bone too. If I remember right it was Bill Wyman's Birthday at the Sunday show. Great weekend! Sorry about your Buddy! That sucks to go so young! Fred Hardin Pleased to meet you........
I care about ATLANTA! You yanks do not own the Stones. And I'm telling you this, Keith loves the Atlanta shows best of all! This comes from him, and he loves hanging out in Atlanta. Folks let him be and relax. More shows in Atlanta. Or at least one more. Cheers Y'all! 5
Agree-Turner Field sucks for a concert! 75% of fans are 100 yards away from the stage. Georgia Dome is great. However Atlanta has already had 2 shows this tour at Phillips arena. Charlotte sells out everytime.
Disagree -Birmingham in 1994 was packed. I was there.
Looks like a college (turn the youngsters onto the Stones) tour. Maybe Athens , GA, home of UGA.??

I received an email from Chuck Leavell tonight after the New York show an in it he said they would not be in Atlanta on the leg of the tour.I am disappointed like others who had hoped for a 3rd Atlanta date.As of tonight it is not going to happen.
