Of course, both Twickenham concerts this year was amazing,
if you saw these shows...Which one do you think rocked best?
It could be interesting to see.....
My vote goes to the 2nd.

Well they weren't better than other shows I've seen but if I have to vote? 2nd one. Calm crowd both nights IMO (damn seats on the pitch)

Twickers #2 for me

Jagger seemed a little more confident, with his vocals, and was back to his usual, between song banter.

Calm crowd?? Not where I was standing!!! (although seat are annoying)

Anyway, Twick 1 was a blinding gig, top sound, cracking atmosphere.

they were both brilliant - but yeah, they seemed happier/more into it at the second show.
i even love what number they dropped at the first show -
anyone who tried bitching about it shut themselves right up :E

Havent heard Twick #2 yet, but the tape of the 1st show, leaves a lot to be desired.

Twickers II though the sound was much better on Sunday. I don't understand that. I was not far away where I was "sitting" at the first show (just on Ronnies side for the 2nd show).

I had exactly that same experience with the sound at both shows but on Keith's side.

Ablett,

It doesnt matter HOW it was recorded, I can still here the mistakes...

it's lonely being right - but #1 by a mile. better setlist, better sound, better performance.

So you can judge a gig by a poorly recorded boot? Baffling!

whos's judging from the boots - I think most of us posting here were at both shows, no?

I only went to the Twickenham 1 show but that was awesome!!

It seems that most are going for the 2nd show- god knows what that must have been like!

This is impossible. The boot is not that bad, and they were off that night, thats all I am saying..lets just drop it.

it's a very close call, nothing in it really- both shows were excellent-
i just sensed Mick had a little more confidence with his vocal range at the second show.
..a minor a difference ,as that.

Would agree about Mick's vocals on night 2, but based on the songs played alone, I can't imagine how folks weren't more impressed with night 1. They didn't even play a ballad on the second show (YCAGWYW notwithstanding - and I don't count that as a ballad anyway). Plus, no cover, no Sway, no Cloud....

I wonder if there's any recording of Twick 2 around??

Both shows great, but TW2 for me - if Harm found the crowd "calm" he wasn't sitting where I was sitting on either night (but then I wasn't on the pitch).

Sound quality seems to have depended on where you were - TW1 was pretty horrible where I was, but I've heard the boot since so I know what I should have heard. TW2 much better on the other side of the stadium.

TW1 scores for a more adventurous setlist, but TW2 gets my vote because the band were so much more relaxed and generally into-it that night, so that every last old warhorse was worth hearing, and the atmosphere was lovely.

I guess I have to agree with Stones Tod. I enjoyed the song selection and the sound was better where we were sitting for the first show. But the Stones' performance and the crowd made the second show just as enjoyable. Slight edge to Twickers 1: after all I WAS singing Streets of Love with Gazza and Stones Tod!!smiling smiley

Did I really singalong to SOL? You know how they say you can block out memory of traumatic experiences?

I attended solely the #1, which I found great with tops Keith & Charlie and with a fantastic SFTD, but it seems I missed something with # 2. Would do better in 2007.

Attended both shows and for me, personally, the band were more 'on' during the 2nd show. They really fired on all cylinders during this show.

Also, a great setlist, as there was no Streets of Love (uughhh) and YCAGWYW returned to the setlist along with one of my all time faves, Paint It Black.

It also felt as though the crowd were more into it during the 2nd show, it just felt like a more special gig, but don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the 1st show tremendously, especially Rambler.
