Something similar also happens with backing vocals.......They are clearly heard from the first song but Lisa and Bernard and Blondie don`t appear on-stage til a few songs in.

i hate the fact that someone is needed to carry the guitar weight, i personally feel blondie is not needed....backup vocals, percussion can be covered with lisa and bernard or chuck. however, the stones recordings typically have at least 3 guitars on them since the mid seventies, a lot of layerings, so maybe it brings the songs in tighter to have an additional guitar since keith and ron play so little in concert.

at least the guys are still out there rockin', God bless 'em.

Has anyone ever posted that Blondie actually toured with Mick Taylor in the early 90's and that is his initail Stones connection? I seen them at a club, the Ambler Cabaret in Ambler Pennsylvania and Blondie and MT were both great.

Just to pass on something I heard from a very reliable source which sheds some light on who Blondie is: He was an accomplished musician in S. Africa and played with the Beach Boys and wrote a well known tune which didn't sound much like the BB usual fare and the "guiding light" of the band let him go ?threatened or what, who knows?--for some years he has been one of Keith's best friends and may live there at times and they play a lot of music together then. A couple of tours ago, he rented the Palace for a private party one night and Keith was there and played.

Well that Keith connection is why I think he's really around, they do appear on a lot of records together - and in the US he mostly sang, played a bit of percussion, and acoustic (inaudible) on a couple tracks - don't recall seeing him on electric tho maybe he did on one song but isn't this making much ado about nothing? Now I'd rather see Blondie filling out the sound on the odd song or two than the overly programmed Matt Clifford approach of '89-90. As far as the Beach Boys go, after he was on 3 BB albums during '72-73, their former label issued the huge 60s comp "Endless Summer" & the BBs virtually became a nostalgia act, going 4 years w/out a new album (an eternity in those days)...
