Who bought 'Biggest Mistake' in the UK?
Date: August 21, 2006 22:28

Seeing as nearly everyone in the country never knew it was being released, who bought the new single? Got mine from HMV, just love 'Before They Make Me Run'!

not in UK, so a little bit off-topic, but when I was leaving Amsterdam and going to Stuttgart for another show I saw BM single in Free Record Shop for something like 3E so bought it. When I arrived to Stuttgart and stepped out from train 2 guys came to me, show their ID's asked for passport and ticket. When they saw I arrived from Amsterdam they of course had to put EVERYTHING out of my bag and checked EVERY little thing in it. they got interested with the single, opened the case, took cd out of case, , checked the booklet as well, looked at artwork on back. They asked if it's their new one & I said "yes it is, but don't steal it from me, please!". They cracked up and started to chceck my bag even more closely - I had to be very carefull to avoid them stealing some other Stones stuff I had in it! LOL, sorry for off-topic

here's even better one. I arrived to Amsterdam in the day of Paris show, couldn't make it to Paris but I had cheap flights this day so decided to go earlier to A'dam. After I left a plane, took a bus to the terminal there was ordinary passport control when they usually just open your pass and close it and say "thank you" for UE citizens. But this time, just like in UK, the guy asked me what's the reason of my visit..."The Rolling Stones, Sir!"...he looked at me and replied: "Than you are in the wrong city, Sir"...I looked at him surprised..."Why?"...he said:" because they are in Paris right now, Sir!".

How cool is it. You come to Holland and not even leave passport control and you have clear evidence everybody knows the Stones!

Do you have the trackslist for the single there?

Got mine in the US via a private seller on amazon.com a few weeks ago. It had the bedroom cover rather than the liquid tongue as advertised.

The person selling it must have gotten ahold of some UK advance copies.

The two live tracks are from Four Flicks, so that's a pity.. but good stuff anyway.

I ordered mine from HMV online because I couldn't be bothered to go into town to buy it. The vinyl has a different b-side.

Red vinyl 7" has "Hand Of Fate" on the b-side.

That's it - I had forgotten. I always buy the vinyl singles because it reminds me of when I was a kid. Plus, there's nothing better than coloured vinyl or picture discs. CDs just don't have that special something! I also like the sound of vinyl - especially on albums like Emotional Rescue, Tatoo You etc. It just brings back memories.

Got mine in Grimsby, they had 2 copies on the day of release. Expecting a #70 in the charts!

Forty Licks keeps selling like crazy in UK, still at #25 in the album chart. It sold more than 100,000 copies in the last three months.

Is there any version with live tracks from the Superbowl as rumoured a couple of months ago?

I have A Bigger Bang CD

Dont collect just listen so no need to buy a single.

Infact last time I bought a single I think I was about 9yo soon figured Albums were much better value.

The albums are a better value but, singles are a good way to listen to some great exclusive tracks.

Stones singles in the UK have traditionally performed poorly for a number of years.

No airplay from the majority of national radio stations and as most fans have the album who needs the single release? I always check them out but as the flipside of biggest mistake contains versions available elsewhere, why bother?

With a smile on your face and a tear right in your eye

I don't have the other versions, just like the idea of having them to belt out the CD player straightaway instead of doing all the converting.

At least they still have loads of top 40 hits, regularly. No Top 10 since Start Me Up, but SOL/RJ reached #15 the last year.

Is it their largest selling album in the UK?

Yep and by far, 1.035,000 and counting.
