Seeing the boys at Twick tomorrow for the first time because I'm 17 and only properly got into the Stones since the last tour, just a few general questions about the day:
Do they let you take cameras into the stadium? How much are programmes and what sort of other stuff can you buy?
I actually remember they had some really cool special Twickenham t-shirts last time with a rugby ball with the Stones tounge on it. It was defo one of the better Stones tops I've seen. They'll probably have them again this time round!
No cameras as such, but a cell phone with a camera is OK. Oh yeah, they will have any and everything you can think of for sale. On the cheap end, blinkie lights and beer. On the expensive end, tickets and leather jackets. Have fun, my friend!
Last time round at Twickers (Licks tour 2003) they produced a Twickenham rugby shirt with the red rose on the breast, but also the red Stones tongue logo. It's a serious cut above the rest of the T-shirt junk that was for sale. If you're not really into T-shirts per se but want something in the way of "wearable" memorabilia, then with luck they'll have these shirts or something similar this time around. Otherwise, there'll be the usual assortment of memorabilia, I personally quite like the little "pins" they do, they're quite collectable. Blinkies are a laugh, especially when you see big hairy assed guys wearing them dangling from their ear lobes !!! Babes look better !!!
My advise: Don't take any recording devices with you. Just enjoy the show, have a great time and find the pictures and the recordings on the internet, the day after. Have a great time. Wish I was there
Will be looking forward to Singer Not The Song's reaction to seeing the band for the first time.
As a teenager I saw Dylan and when he sang, "You know something's happening but you don't know what it is," I sat there and thought, "No I don't"
But a year later when I saw the Stones at Royal Albert Hall, their first gig there, within ten minutes I KNEW the world of music had changed and that it was going to be amazing.

It's a nice one. Have been wearing it at San Siro and Stade de France. Will put it on at today's gig. As an ancient rugby player.
- i had no problems to take my cam inside (had it in my underpants) despite i was onstage.but i was carefull to take pics onstage, but in fos you won?t have a problem to take pictures. the merchandising prices are normally high - paid 20€for the programm ( although i got a copy onstage for free). shirts are also expensive. have a look, what shirt you are buying. it could happen that the official stones store is less expensive. after the show you will be able to get posters for a cheap amount. have a great day in london, also others :-)
----------------------------------------------------- Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Seeing The Stones in UK and especially in their Hometown is a unique experience I wish all the people on this board will have the chance to attend. I hope to meet a lot of you tonight : C3 , Row3: 17-19. Singer, The Stones are always fantastic in London.
Have a great time singer, i am so jealous, even though i am going to tuesdays show and glasgow, i really wish i was there tonight, but i cant afford it really.
I would say get a program. They are pricey bit they're worth it, and the latest 'up town' edition has photos actually from the early part of this tour in the states last year. It goes without saying to keep your ticket as a souvenir. You will be blown away!
You are going to have an unforgettable moment. The first time I saw the Stones on stage was in Nice in 1976. I remember that gig as if it was to-day. I was in the FOS. I was very much impressed. I brought a cheap camera though it was quite prohibited, and took pictures which are technically not very good, but are great souvenir for me. You will have a great time and you will never forget it.

If they confiscate your camera they usually give you a ticket so you can collect it on the way out.
"Singer_Not_The_Song", you remind me a bit of my...girlfriend, who is mostly a U2 and REM fan! I mean, Porto 2006 was her first ever Stones gig. During the show she was very enthousiastic. After it, she told me: "now i understand why millions of people are loving so much this band. Amazing. This gig was many times better than every rock concert i have seen...". And, to be honest, Porto gig was absolutely rocking, but not one of my 3-4 best Stones concerts...
well Ruby & Sway and Midnight Rambler & Get Off My Cloud...on FIRST STONES SHOW...oh shit...I hope he finds words to desribe some of it for us (if he's still alive of course)
