Kings Pub NICE - Stones Donkeys show
Date: August 10, 2006 12:38

Does anyone know the website for the Kings Pub in Nice? I have searched on Google but cannot seem to find it.

The RollingStones Italia 'Donkeys' show on the 7th August was great (Ciao Andrea!) and the photos are apparently on the Kings Pub site - any help would be appreciated.

Great show.

I LOOOOVED Sympathy For thr Devil which sounded so sixties and early seventies...

Using the Rollin' Stoned as my yardstick for tribute bands, I beg to disagree! Those Donkeys compared VERY unfavourably.

Thanks for that Roby - They were not really a 'tribute band' as such, they didn't attempt to look like the Stones, but played great versions of Stones songs, particularly Sympathy. The lead guitarist was particularly excellent - Forza!

I concurr. I'd rather listen to a band that plays great Stones rather than spending a lot of time to look like the Stones.
Also, the Donkeys are fans, real ones, rather than average-Joe musicians that happen to look like Keith or Bill (poor guy the on ethat looks like Bill).
I'd take a band of fans everyday rather than a band of pro's.
If I want pros I go see the real thing, as we're all fans the Donkeys are paying an hommage to the Stones, not milking the cow like those tribute bands do.
