Anyways i don't understand where you made a uturn and started bring up people like George lynch from Dokken he did'nt have a head full of hairspray besides he's a personal friend of mine so i did not understand were you were going with all the names you mentioned from him on.

rod with the faces kicked ass. yes if you look at dokken's albums lynch does have a head full of hairspray. he was even on t.v. laughing at old pictures of himself on vh-1 classic. i was listing off the names of incredibly talent musicians and singers who were in 80's "hair bands" or 80's hard rock that back then had hair 10 miles high. plus showing that grunge bands had very few talented musicians come out of those bands.

Dead Kennedys.

Under 15 years audiences were overreacting at Whisky a Go Go in 1980.
May be Slash, Izzy or Axel were among them.

Yes i forgot George is the best man he's really down to earth when you hang with him he just like a normal dude but most of them are just in the eighties when we were younger it was a little weird with the ego's.

porno for pyro's was sweet. i liked the singers other band jane's addiction better though. heres a list of stuff the other guys play on other than solo material.
marty friedman- cacophony, solo stuff and megadeth albums from 1990-2000
jake e. lee- solo, badlands, ozzy albums "bark at the moon" and "ultimate sin"
jason becker- cacophony, solo
richie kotzen- solo, poison album native tongue (the one with the song stand)
tony macalpine- solo, m.a.r.s. (macalpine, aldridge, rock, sarzo)

O Yeah is Jake e.lee the one who play's on no more tears, i like his style. Yeah the singer is Perry Ferrell from janes, porno's planning on a reunion tour i think i should'nt let that out but it does'nt matter,because Navarro doing that super Nova thing. I know steve perkins really good too the drummer of Janes and porno. I just met Tony Franklin from the firm through perkins you know the bass player?

naw after 1986 "ultimate sin" zakk wylde has been ozzy's guitarist. he plays on "no more tears". he also has his own band called black label society. are you asking if i heard of tony franklin or the bassists for porno for pyros? tony franklin is awesome if thats who your asking about. the firm suck though lol. lots of talent but music was pretty dull. tony played bass on guitarist gary hoey's solo albums. gary hoey is now the guitar teacher at berkley music school in new york which is where gary went to school. gary had an awesome band in 1992 called heavy bones. it was him, joel ellis from the band cats in boots on vocals and frankie banali from quiet riot and w.a.s.p. on drums and i can't remember the bass player. anyways back to tony franklin he played in an awesome band called blue murder around 1986. get that cd. it has him on bass, carmine appice from cactus, king kobra, rod stewarts band, pat travers recent work on drums and john sykes on guitar and vocals. sykes was in whitesnake in 1983 but quit when he saw they were going more commercial and oddly enough he sounds like david coverdale of whitesnake when he sings.

Yeah it's a small world The Firm was insane live a whole nother world then the album! Page had three full stack's of 100 watt Marshall...Hendrix's Marshalls by the way with that tele it was pretty unbelievable let me tell you i saw a bunch of show's. That's what i was saying i met tony a few month's back through perkins. Got to talk about what it was like hanggin with Page that was cool. Yeah i know who wilde is but in the no more tears video it's that chinese guy playing the lead on that bulleye Les Paul.

Re: Who Is THE WORST Band Ever?
Date: August 7, 2006 10:01

i'm surprised you didn't say damn you know your music. especially the 80's rock but i'm 25 so what do you expect lol. ozzy's band at the time was zakk wylde on guitar, randy castillo on drums and mike inez on bass. none of them look chinese. inez quit around that time to go to alice in chains so maybe his replacement looked chinese. i know zakk plays a bullseye les paul. i've seen the video lots of times i swear it zakk. remember back then he was clean shaven and about 22 years old and liked to hide his face with his hair when he played so it still could be him. i always thought it was him in the video.

Re: Who Is THE WORST Band Ever?

something funny. we were talking about george lynch and ozzy's band and you saying most 80's l.a. strip bands suck but how about jake e. lee was the original guitarist for RATT who i know you've heard of but actually george lynch auditioned for ozzy too because it was before dokken hit it big. i can't remember why lynch didn't get the job. brad gillis from night ranger actually had the job first before lee or lynch auditioned but turned it down after he played some dates with ozzy that were recorded and became the live album titled"speak of the devil". they were all auditioning to replace randy rhodes who had died in an plane crash. randy rhodes and bass player rudy sarzo both were in the original incarnation of hard rock act quiet riot that formed in 1976 in california but left to join ozzy. if you want to hear some awesome randy rhodes work there's a compilation called quiet riot the randy rhodes years. the two albums they did in the 70's were only available in japan and are hard to get. the compilation has a few tracks from those two albums plus some outakkes plus about 3/4 of the riff used on ozzy's two albums with randy rhodes lol. looks like ozzy just rehashed old quiet riot songs. ouch, what a shock to fans who called quiet riot a joke but call ozzy the king of metal. at least when quiet riot hit big in the 80's sarzo came back to play bass for kevin dubrow meaning only 2 originals were in it then but they sound nothing like they did in the 70's. in the 70's they sound kinda like van halen but not as catchy riffs but a singer who sang better.

"like david coverdale of whitesnake" (when he sings;
quote Keefriffhard4life).

Would ya say thats a complete other story than if someone
sounds like "David Coverdale of Deep Purple"... Or would it be the same?

i always thought coverdale used a slightly rougher tone in deep purple. not as commercial slick polished sounding as in whitesnake. might be because he was a new young singer then though or could be how it was recorded and mixed. i actually should have stated david coverdale when whitesnake became a commercial rock band because they were around in the 70's after he left purple but in a much different sounding more bluesy version.

Sorry, dont have but some of the geezers here
(or sooner the youngsters) ought to have.

Get Live In Concert 1970-72;
In Rock, Fireball, Live In London, Stormbringer & Come Taste The Band...
And of course Machine Head, the latter one of the best rock albums ever
released by any band.

Re: Who Is THE WORST Band Ever?

so you don't have rapture of the deep? also you didn't say did you wanna know what to get by whitesnake?

best thing then is if you live in usa get a disc set called whitesnake gold, if you live in the uk its called 30 years or something like that but its still 2 discs. it has 70's hits, 80's hits, coverdale solo songs and coverdale/jimmy page songs. its the best value and you get to here some of everything without getting a lot of 80's pop or 70's blues at one time. if you like the 80's sound though that they had theres a 2 disc set that has all three 80's albums but none of the 70's songs.

Ian Gillan, yes, he makes his own furniture out of wood and stuff, that's what he does when he's not touring. I interviewed him once for a "paper"...which sold about 9 copies or so, 15 years ago. I got it on a tape somewhere.

I know, king bee, I know. I don't take this band to serious anyway, to be quite honest.

Amen and hallelujah! I love Queen. Freddie Mercury was a legendary vocalist.

Definitely not a band, or an artist in my ears for that matter...but I absolutely hate Britney Spears. She is one of the worst I can think of. Not to mention trance/dance, death metal, boy bands, most of the Top 20 List and stupid female singers like Jessica Simpson and Mariah Carey (arrrrgh!). But the safest way of making me cringe and/or feel sick, is to put on some Britney. Her version of Satisfaction almost made me physically ill in Free Record Shop once....
