I agree and disagree with people who say they like the short versions of satisfaction or Jumping jack I love the 7-8 Min cook ass versions

It's become little more than a cliched, laughable old ditty...like Yellow Submarine became for the Beatles.

Ditch it, for good.

Nonsens, really bullshit!
I heard satisfaction in paris last week, and i @$$#$%% blew me away. It was raw and it rocked! They kept on going and going, you could see that the band was tryin to give everybody a devine end of the show, and it worked, the crowd went mad.

I like the bit where you say that it keeps going and going. That's precisely the problem.

yeah, your right they should keep it short. 99% of the crowd is going mad on this extended live version but for a few dissatisfied weeners they shpould keep it shorter

Hey Margret ,

I love your thinking I love these long Versions JJF St. Louis 97 Awesome

I like WATCHING them preform satisfaction still, becasue Mick really works the crowd, but I have to admit, LISTENING to recent versions really doesnt do much for me. It was good as an opener during BTB, but as of late, I dont really like the way it sounds.

being that i have only been to one show on this tour, my opinion doesn't encompass the whole tour, but, satisfaction was a definate highlight on the b-stage in toronto this past fall, keith really opened it up.

Of course, to see RS play Satisfaction right in front of you is really great,
but anything they'll play is great. It's just that songs should be changed around a bit. I'm sure it's greater to see them do Cherry Oh Baby in front of you...even though I haven't been at those ones!

I'd rather they rest one or more of the other warhorses - out of the 10 of them Satisfaction, JJF and Brown Sugar are the ones I'm least tired of. But given a choice between the one billionth playing of one of those and something fresher, I'd take the second option every time.

its a boring song, but it has its point, most of the audience is not die hard stone fans, and they like the song, and that makes it work, most of the crowd go wild. and thats cool

the organ and back up singers are too loud or something.

Yes, they exploit the chance, when they get one. Same goes for Tumbling Dice and others....the 5 cats from England is all we need.

the only thing that saves it is Mick going crazy at the end. but you can only see that, you cant hear it.

they should try to make it sound more like they did it back in the late 70s/early 80s.

Satisfaction is one of the songs that I can't give an answer to, concerning my favourite version. If someone put a knife to my throat, I'd go for Stevie Wonder/Stones Uptight/Satisfaction 72. But there's so many good ones, they amaze me every time. Still I wish they changed the setlist a bit....
Satisfaction Philly 78 is as wild as a song can be, and Leeds 71 is really cool, MSG is up there with the best of everything....simple chords, but it takes a lot of energy to do it right.

I definetley like the 69 version. the MSG version on Gimme Shelter.

In St. Louis, Satisfaction tore the roof down. There's was confetti and shit all over and Mick was having a seizure while still standing etc. I would've stood up like everyone else, but with the two feet of floor space I had (nose bleed section) I would've fallen to my death (most likely impalement on Ronnie's hair cut).

Anyhow, I think it's great. Keith did a nice solo, too.

I don't want to drop satisfaction from the setlist.I will always prefer to hear in a concert Satisfaction to almost anything else.I agree that it used to be cooler, but most of the songs were played in a better style previous years.Saitama version rocks and I can't wait to go and watch it in my stereo.

I don't agree entirely. The versions from the nineties outrocks the studio cut, which isn't a very good recording IMO. It's always been better live. The version from the Superbowl is pretty damn good too. I've heard it boring on some Licks/ABB concerts though. It seems to rely very much on the mood of the band on the particular night I think.

Satisfaction is maybe the hit that sounds most fresh these days.

I looove what Keith does at the beggining of it in some of Euro show (wow!) and the restarting of he did in Berlin and Stuttgart. This is like WOW. After it - fireworks and light are turned on and you can see the audience hardly walking and it's not because of beer!

He's been messing up the riff lately too.
