This song rock and rolls! Don't you agree? People forget about it, but it's a rocker like no other since!

I like it quite a bit but doesn't knock me out like a personal Top 75 of their catalouge. I like to Tie Me Up, know what I Mean? Good track though MEZ

From listening, I think these are the words. Mick really sings to the beat like a true rocker.

"Hip to it, Blind to it,
Hips like a thunder-clap,
Feeling my greasy sausage,
Up and down your back

Blind, so blind, the pain of love."

I like his greasy growl when Mick says:

"No release from the Jail,
No parole, no bail.
Hard leather, 50 lashes,
bleeding turds, from the asses"

The dirtiest Sones song ever, probably. And it's good..

It's the hidden gem of the album.

Undercover, She Was Hot, and Too Much Blood are the most recognizable tunes, but Pain of Love is what makes the album halfway decent.

Agree; well... "halfway decent" is too harsh stetemenet to my taste, but I agree Pain of love is the best and sexiest song there.

Listen to Keith and Ronnie's playing throughout.sounds like they had a good time making it.Unfortunatetly everthing they do is compared to Exile which is unfair. That was 1972...one year in there lifes!!!!!

Sharks, the lyrics aren't quite as "dirty" as what you posted. Check one of the lyric sites, unless you're playing troll.

The bass is very prominent in this tune; I really like that.

I've read comments on songs like "Angie" and "Miss You" saying that it was unusual to hear mick jagger sounding so vulnerable, and this is part of what made them so popular. But I've never read how people felt to hear him cry out, "Don't abuse me! Don't abuse me!"

I love the "Don't hurt me, don't hurt me..." over and over. Mick sounds like a scared little boy in front of a women much bigger than him. Or, he's tied up begging for no lashes.

Yes I do!

But they do get kind of gross.

"Feel the hot cum, dripping on your thigh from it"

...Ugh.

Sharks Will Cry just gave me two of the best laughs I've had in awhile. Anyone who would pick that name has a sense of humor. I'd love to read more of your doctored Jagger/Richards lyrics.

I remember Mick once described it as a "Lowell Fulsom groove," and it does chug along quite nicely, and I agree Undercover is underrated - too dark to repeat the success of Tattoo You, especially during 1983-84...Love the 12-inch single with longer versions of Undercover b/w the deep dubbed Feel On Baby - Bill's bass boosted, Keith's echoey vocals - and Too Much Blood is classic, ditto Pretty Beat Up. Hmmm think I'll go put it on.
