And even if they do catch him, he'll just put up his puppy eyes. And if that doesn't work, I'll be right behind him to give the guards a good beating.

89/90s version: beginning with the incredible song continental drift.
then 3 flames ,better said explosions and the starting riff of start me up.

i like this version ,cause this tour was my first tour ever.i was 8 years old and i had luck that my parents took me in the concert. since this time i have been addicted.furthermore the stage steelw/urban was imo one of their best.

Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul

Nothing special if you ask me. Nothing spectacular. Granted, it has a nice feel to it, as we all have good memories of the Licks shows, but as an opening to a rock concert, I wouldn't say it quite built the tension like Continental Drift.

That BANG!...I haven't thought about that one for a long time, yes it was a REALLY great BANG in 1990! I think I still hear it actually.

The No Security intro is my favourite, but the Continntal Drift intro and the drumming on Voodo Lounge was thrilling as well. I have to say that I get high every time I see Charlie sitting down on his drums, that moment always gives me lots of adrenaline.

Why was the Licks intro pretty much non-existant? To me, the intro is the best part of the show. I liked Steel Wheels how the tempo built until they just exploded onto stage, huge energy.

"You'll be studying history and you'll be down the gym. And I'll be down the pub, probably playing pool and drinking."

My favorite was back in '72.
In an instant, whether you're ready or not, the house lights go out. The audience goes berserk. The opening chords of 2OOO Light Years From Home blare from the p.a. as Chip Monck announces,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones."
And all of a sudden, there they are.

The announcer for the 81/82 tour was also the tour's promoter, Bill Graham.
By the time the band got to Leeds on the 25th of July, his voice was wrecked. He could barely speak but he got it out that one last time.
"Thank you very much for waiting, Leeds, will you welcome, please..."

Yeah, that's a good one too.

(I've always suspected that Mick, himself, introduced the band at some of the '78 theater shows. Offstage, of course. It's sounds like him in some of the boots from that tour, as in "And now, here they are from England..." or something like that.

The best:
Voodoo Lounge.
Bridges To Babylon.
Steel Wheels.

The worst:
Still Life.
Fanfare for the Common man.
Licks.

When I deem Licks and "Fanfare" the worst it sounds really harsh. I like them, but hey're surely not the best I think.

Stones: No Security. The video with them walking backstage was just great.

General: Peter Gabriel. His first solo tour after he left Genesis. People were working preparing the stage dressed in white workers overals. Then suddenly the show is starting and one of the workers sliding down from a ladder is Peter Gabriel himself. Singing. Later on there was a break in the show and as the ligts were out the show started. I was sitting in the stairs of the venue and there he was sitting next to me singing through a wireless microphone.

Now that you mention white clothes: I saw David Bowie in 2002. A small place. Only 5000 people. They started playing "Warszawa" without Bowie on stage. And then suddenly he walked in dressed in all white clothes. So cool. The Thin White Duke indeed...

89/90 : Awesome intro, with the break and the reprise of Cont. Drift
94/95 : Quite unexpected, original. Liked the way Charlie was taking over the pre-recorded loop
97/98 : OK intro, nice bangs.
99 : Excellent video, increasing suspense before seeing the real Stones.
02/03 : The heartbeat sound was oppressive, and Keith's riff was a relief. excellent idea IMO.
05/06 : The video is OK, but where's the Bigger Bang ???
