Best concert intro?

For me from BtB tour: star hitting the screen and then Satisfaction - great. I also like "Fanfare for the common man". I'm a bit dissapointed with present tour intro.

I thought the bigger bang intro with start me up works really well, with the fireworks and then the flames on stage. JJF is a great opener but for the current intro SMU works better, from a theatrical point of view.

The BtB intro with the big star and then the fireworks exploding from around the video screen only worked well in the dark. It looks awesome on the st louis dvd, but was not as effective when i saw them at the stade de france, because it was still daylight. The 99 intro (might as well get juiced) was a real tension builder, as you see them walking from the dressing room and then the elevator door opens! Electrifying!

I think all of the stones intros are great, and they are memorable and form a special part of the show that you always remember well.

I love to watch the intro on the live at the max dvd, watching all the backstage action, charlie jogging around, ronnie with those stupid glasses with the eyeballs on springs! And then all those bloody loud explosions!

No Security was my fave.
It felt dangerous!
ZZ Top had an interesting intro where an egyptian mask snorted a sheet that was over the stage. And then the band was underneath the sheet.
so of course it looked like the mask snorte a huge pile of coke. the opening song 'Got Me'Under Pressure had a cocaine reference. very funny!

No contest - No Security. Even though the backstage footage was quite obviously pre-filmed.

No Security was a fantastic opener! It's now been copied by so many other bands it isn't funny.

The Bigger Bang intro movie is rather good with all kinds of things flying about the screen: rockets, rocks, Stones silhouettes, tongues and if I'm not mistaken, even a banana.

It lacks a bit of momentum from the BANG-kind though, like the explosion on the BtB tour. Especially in daylight it is a bit lame.

Its the best intro....I love the 75/76 intro also very much..and the clasical 78 intro(with firecrackers!)...the intro fo this tour is not what i would call a bigger bang ,mind you I think its the weakest intro ever done by the boys....better just walk on stage,thought..but it aint the intro gladly its the show ...if your tour is called ABB ,let me hear it...!!!!Bang!!!BTW the 89/90 intro was a killer too!!!

Agreed, I had big expectations considering the name of the tour, when I saw it I was rather disappointed. They should have had some really large explosion. I mean BIG!! BOOM!! Lots of fireworks. Instead they recycle the effects they had on the 89/90 tour and put some kind of psychedelic video on the screen.

Absoulute favourite - continental drift during the urban jungle tour.
Most exiting and uncompareable heartbeating concert intro.
For me of course

Excited indeed, epspecially as the show will be filmed. About the seats, unfortunately I'm in the stands, my fellow concert-goers have back problems, hahaha. And they've cancelled, so now I'm stuck with those tickets, good tickets by the way, near the stage on Keith's side. The only person I'm going with is my pa, the others, some friends of my father, like I said have cancelled, nobody near to my age ofcourse. I would have liked to have gone with a friend but the few friends I do have don't like the Stones, and even if they wouldn't, they would pay 100 dollars to go see them. But then again, my pa is paying for the tickets, so I'm not complaining.

Or how about Take The A-Train, that's still my favorite.

My favorites are the 81-82 tour with Take the A Train and then opening with Under My Thumb. Also I loved the Voodoo opening with all the percussion leading into Not Fade Away.

Both were unique ideas and different songs to open the show. Not sure if we will ever get a surprise opener again, or anything that they have not done before.

Hi Rooster, it would be great with a roostleg LP of the Amsterdam show.
But then again, they might confiscate your equipment.
