Those are all great, curtisdavis. I'd like to add:
Paint It Black Complicated (he really shines on the entire Buttons album) Think 19th Nervous Breakdown Have You Seen Your Mother Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out (entire album)
I'd like to add the part between the verse and the chorus in Where The Boys Go, and at the last minute of Lies. And the way he beat the drums in RAGE, after the 2 minutes of nonsense in Gimme Shelter, Perth 73.
A good friend of mine who is an amazing drumer usually plays stuff like Rush, Zeppelin and the Chili Peppers. He respects Charlie a lot and was very impressed watching Charlie at the MSG gig I took him to in Sept. So my friend likes to blast his stereo system and play his drums along to the music when he practices. So I threw in Fort Worth 1978 and put on All Down The Line and at first he had trouble keeping up with Charlie and he couldn't believe how fast the tempo was compared to the original...
So for all those who praise all the fancy drum fills, solos and so on.. Nobody holds a steady rock n roll beat like Charlie, even when he has to keep up with a cocaine induced Keith or Mick...
Also love Charlie on Get Off My Cloud and Rip This Joint
Hound dog that is what I,m talking about,Charlie is the man also may I add the drums on What a shame,It wont take long, and his Ringo style on Shes a rainbow
I would love to see and hear what Charlie thinks!!favorite albums, tours, songs, etc, etc, it would be pure heaven,PS the only reason I got the red coffee table book was because of Charlies new interviews, and yes he's going to pound those pigskins next week ,can't wait to see the first footage
Beelyboy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- charlie gives her a quick side glance, after just looking at his shoes while all this is going on... "Not really"...
I love when he says things like that. It's funny though, because he has such a gentlemanly manner about him, but the way he interacts with some reporters is actually fairly rude (not looking at a person when they're speaking with you, flippant responses, etc). Charlie must have played hooky that day at etiquette school.
