When I was young, so much younger than today...back in the early 1990s, I used to talk to Jerry Shirley a lot. He was working as a disc jockey in Cleveland. He was incredibly nice to me and told great stories about Giorgio Gomelsky and Andrew Oldham. I think of him whenever Humble Pie comes up...or solo Syd Barrett.

Here's the video you're referring to - not sure about any mental hospital stuff as the tune is more about drug dependency. And horrid music you say? It's a damn great tune!!!

You might like this one as it's a bit of a poppy love song - I recall my wife liking the chorus part - "Baby...set my soul on fire", but that's about the only thing she likes from entire Spiritualized catalogue.
