When I was young, so much younger than today...back in the early 1990s, I used to talk to Jerry Shirley a lot. He was working as a disc jockey in Cleveland. He was incredibly nice to me and told great stories about Giorgio Gomelsky and Andrew Oldham. I think of him whenever Humble Pie comes up...or solo Syd Barrett.

Haha I remember you asked me if I was "OK" after posting that.
Here's the video you're referring to - not sure about any mental hospital stuff as the tune is more about drug dependency. And horrid music you say? It's a damn great tune!!! smiling smiley

Spiritualized - Medication

"Every time I say this
I just know this time I mean it
But a feeling deep inside
Says "it's okay one more time"
I'm waiting for the time
When I can be without
These things that make me feel
This way all of the time
Makes me feel so good
Makes me feel so fine
Makes me feel so good
Leaves me f*cked up inside..."

You might like this one as it's a bit of a poppy love song - I recall my wife liking the chorus part - "Baby...set my soul on fire", but that's about the only thing she likes from entire Spiritualized catalogue. winking smiley

"This is a different version to the
Living Legend
title of the same name, although the bulk of the tracks are the same. It's a very enjoyable compilation of, well, blues, from the late 1960s and early 1970s. They had the makings of a great slow, dark, bluesy, downer album there, and it's a real shame they never put out something like this in a more coherent manner.

01. Jiving Sister Fanny
02. I’m Going Down
03. I Don’t Know Wy
04. Hamburger To Go
05. Downtown Susie
06. Blood Red Wine
07. Traveling Man
08. Family
09. Still A Fool
10. Family (Retake)
11. Leather Jacket
12. Dancing In The Light
13. Potted Shrimp
14. Alladin Story
15. And I Was A Country Boy
16. Who Am I? + Trident Jam (Bonus track)
17. Too Many Cooks
Notes; Recorded at Trident Studios, 17 St. Anne’s Court, Soho, London, 1968 - 1971.
Remastered version from the best early 90’s source."

Love the lyrics, and love these two guys. Rostam is getting more and more adventurous, and sure in his production. HML great singer.

I really believe many of the Stonesfans, even traditionalists could appreciate this.
