I wonder if Rockman, or someone from down under sees this. I have several of their albums, but only recently 'saw' them. I had heard they were theatrical. But I didn't know how big they were in Australia until I read up on them. I like the band, but did people really like that singer?
BTW - there is a GREAT 3-part vid on youtube about them in the studio. I love vintage recording sessions from that era documented like that. The rundown warehouse setting with egg cartons on walls; the still new, mysterious vibe about the studio; the producer who speaks like a real dude, not in L.A speak; and mainly that they are doing this rather intricate song organically. Like - when they make a mistake they have to start over. Npne of this "punching in" or "we'll fix it later". Loved the Gong overdub.
Note to self: must tell Philip about this.
