Unreleased David Bowie album from 2001 called Toy. Real good. Too good to stay unreleased. Here's a track off it. Some covers of older 60s songs.

bonnie isn't on john's original...she covered it a few years later. others did before her, too, including john denver and carly simon. more recently susan tedeschi did a nice job with it.

Bonnie Raitt duets with John Prine on the Great Days Anthology on Angel From Montgomery. The duet is taken from a Tribute to Steve Goodman evening.

The album I was listening to the other day was John's first album: it has Sam Stone, Paradise, Six O Clock News, etc on it. It was produced by Arif Mardin, the same guy that produced Norah Jones' first album. Arif also did an amazing cover of the Beatles' Glass Onion.

However, the musicians on Angel From Montgomery are the American Studios musicians; the same guys that backed Elvis in 1969 at Memphis, which also explains why I like it. John has had a knack of recording with excellent musicians: Steve Cropper on Common Sense, Billy Lee Riley on Pink Cadillac, Marty Stuart on German Afternoons, Donnie Fritts on Aimless Love, Howie Epstein on The Missing Years, Marianne Faithfull on Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings.

Super Heavy - Warring People

Musically, this is clearly the best song by this group. Strangely, it was reduced to being a bonus track with weaker stuff making the standard album instead. This should have been a single.
